In the Marked Trees Walkthrough of God of War PS4 show you how to Hunt with Atreus, Defeat Daudi Kaupmadr Boss, Defeat The Stranger Boss. In The Marked Trees Walkthrough, you will also learn to use Leviathan Axe and many combo attacks.
The Journey is the Chapter 1 of God of War (2018) and The Marked Trees Walkthrough is the first mission. In the beginning, after selecting the Difficulty Level, you will see a short cutscene, after which the Chapter 1: The Journey begins. The first mission is more about teaching you to control the character and combat system, including the weapon the AXE.

Follow the river downstream
Use L to steer the boat downstream, there will be a short cutscene where Kratos picks up the tree, follow Arteus towards home.
Hunt with Atreus
After the final rites, Kratos will accompany Arteus on a small hunting mission. Follow the boy, look for glowing items on your way, you can earn Hacksilver. Jump over gaps, and break the blocked path using Leviathan Axe. L2 is to aim towards the target and throw it using R1 or R2. Hit the triangle button to recall it.
Once again the Deer will disappear, you have to now fight with a few bunches of Draugr’s Demise. Draw the AXE, R1 is for Light Attack and R2 for heavy. These enemies are easy to kill, lookout for the green glowing stone on the ground, the Healthstones to restore your health. Interact with the door of the old temple to open it. Follow Atreus to reach closer to Deer.
You will reach into a massive hall of the temple filled with Draugr’s Demise, clear them up. After killing them, there is a pillar, pull the chain down, and throw the AXE on the top of the door you just opened. Stand near the closed door ahead, and call your AXE, you can now move ahead.
Note: On the right side near the broken pillar, there is a box, in which you can get Hacksliver.
Once you are on the other side of a door, you will find one more box on your left, follow Atreus and hunt the deer. L2 + R is to aim with the bow and Square button to release the arrow. Wait for the crosshair to turn red, and then release it. Go near the animal for a cutscene.
How To Defeat Daudi Kaupmadr Boss
In the next part you will be facing a massive giant, and learn to use Atreus arrow, by pressing the Square button you can command the boy to shoot arrows. L2 + Square will let you target a specific enemy. In this way, the boy can distract the enemies and as Kratos, you can release some lethal attacks. Below you will see the enemies health bar. Watch out for the giants stomping attack, it can throw you away. Next is his heavy blow with the huge piece of the column and bashing you with it. These attacks are predictable, you will have enough time to dodge away. Finish the monster with a final attack, when you see a red glowing circle. You will get XP and some Healthstones after the monster body disappears.
Note: Use R3 to perform Stun Grab near Stunned Enemies
Return to the House
On your left, you will see a wall to climb, go there and follow your way towards home. Next, you will learn Stunning enemies, there is a separate red bar that appears below health bar after you stun your target. Practice it by killing a troll ahead, and a few more will appear. You will have to fight a few more while in your path. A new type of enemy will appear which is in blue color and immune to Leviathan Axe attach. So you have to defeat him with fits and shield. This new enemy is Reaver’s Doom.
There is a wooden platform tied with a rope, hit the blue symbol with AXE and it will fall down. Jump down and the house is on the left. Enter it and there will be a cutscene.
How To Defeat The Stranger Boss
After the cutscene, a new character appears in the game, The Stranger. He is pretty strong and there will be different phases until he is finally defeated. Once the right begins, you will see the yellow health bar below. You will be using your first and shield here. The Stranger can tackle your AXE attacks easily.
Phase 1 – How To Defeat The Stranger Boss
Use your fist combos, you can use an AXE, but The Stranger will turn blue and can tackle it easily. In the beginning, you can release some combos and damage one portion of his health. He can glide left or right in speed and come all the way towards you to punch you. If there are rocks in between he can throw them towards your direction with the attack. Dodge left or right to skip the attack. He will turn blue, that’s the time you have to either block or run away. After consuming the second portion of his health, he will be a bit weaker, but he will repeat this attacks. The Stranger will find out there is someone in the house, next you have to fist attack him till the last potion of his health is left.
Phase 2: How To Defeat The Stranger Boss
The second phase of the fight will begin after a cutscene when The Stranger heals himself completely. He will punch Kratos into a mountain, to come out you will have to use Spartan Rage, by holding L3 + R3. This is where your second phase of the fight will start after a short cutscene. Once again use multiple combos to attack. This time he will dodge away faster and after turning blue he will try to attack you with full strength. He will also use his both the hands and bang on the ground to release a force wave that will throw you in the air. You can now spot his attacks easily, so when you do this, just dodge away. After his three potions of health is drained out use the Leviathan Axe. The Stranger will be more aggressive when the last option of his health left, he will use deadly combos side by side.
Phase 3: How To Defeat The Stranger Boss
He is still not dead after Kratos bury him under a mountain he will rise once again after a short while, and this will be your final fight. In a small segment, climb up on the top of the mountain, after falling down. In this last phase, things will be a bit easier, because you know his moves, you will be using the AXE and shield here, to attack and to block The Strangers attack. He will be using similar attacks like before, but he will be faster. One new attack he will use is flying up in the air and then coming down with full force releasing a shockwave. You have to play a bit defensive at this point, when he turns blue stay at a distance, dodge the attack and then charge in. Keep continue this format and you will be able to drain out his health completely.
