Bad News Regarding Industry Incoming, Possibly PS4 And Sony Related? (Updated)
A series of recent tweets from Adam Sessler and Polygon founder Arthur Gies hints impending "bad news" concerning our beloved videogame industry.
First of all we would like our readers to check out tweets from both Adam Sessler and Arthur Gies.
sometimes it's good to have final, irrefutable confirmation of weeks of rumored bad news.— Arthur Gies (@aegies) October 26, 2013
Was looking forward to this weekend...and then today happened. I want to be a banker again. The economy is more predictable.— Adam Sessler (@AdamSessler) October 26, 2013
Yes twitter I am surly tonight. I am being a good boy and not saying why. Don't worry truth to power will win out.— Adam Sessler (@AdamSessler) October 26, 2013
Both these guys tweeted at the same time, many fans predicted that these tweets are related to a recent RUMOR that Xbox One version of certain multiplatform games runs at lower resolution than their Playstation 4 counterparts and also that icrosoft embargoed Xbox One games due to fear of websites making comparison videos.
Although this is true, Adam and Arthur stated that it wasn't the reason why they Tweeted such things.
So the only question that needs an answer now is, What the hell could be so bad with video-game industry?
Marcus Beer has joined the bandwagon and stated that negative story on internet today is not about Xbox One.
So far these guys have confirmed it IS NOT related:
- Xbox One
- Xbox DRM
- Either console GPU change
- Either console delay
You'll know answers to certain resolution rumors before the 12th. That's not why embargoes are separate for Xbox one. Think harder eyeroll.— Arthur Gies (@aegies) October 26, 2013
Take a look at this recent post by MarcusBeer on NeoGaf. It might shed some light on recent tweets from these Journalist:
Hi all, took me a while to remember my password or I would have jumped in sooner.
Its not just about the games, its reviewing the actual system 2 days before the damn thing ships.
Something feels off right now to be honest & a lot of people are pissed about it.
If you have seen anything I have done over the last 8 months, you will know I have been very happy with the way Sony has been doing things but now its time for them to shit or get off the pot and they are being damn evasive about allowing serious access to the system before launch.
I have mine preordered (ditto XboxOne) & if that is the only way I will get to have said access to the PS4 then so be it.
When people delay access to something, game or hardware, it's never for a good reason in my experience.
Few more clarification tweets from Adam Sessler hints that this impending news will affect gaming journalism in some sort of way, whether it be reviews, gameplay, embargos, a new association, etc.
Seems to be something more in line with a specific videogame corp doing something at an event recently
This is Amber, Adam's wife. Thank you, Mr. Big Videogame Corp. for ruining another Saturday chez Sesslers. I don't get you.— Adam Sessler (@AdamSessler) October 27, 2013
A recent Kevin Dent post on NeoGaf hints that it's an issue with Sony. And it looks like they're trying to control how content is uploaded to YouTube or Sony hasn't given the access to certain features to review. You can read full long post of Kevin Dent HERE.
