Yoshida on PS4 Exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End: "Totally Confident It Will Be A Great Game"
Sony Worldwide Studios Boss Shuhei Yoshida has shared his view of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, movie like games coming from Sony's first party studios and what he expects to see from Naughty Dog in Drake's next adventure. In a recent interview to our friend at GameReactor, Yoshida stated:
"Movie-like games are games in the end. It's the interactivity that’s the most important thing, but the story adds to the impact of the interactivity. Games like Uncharted or The Last of Us… Naughty Dog tries very hard to not separate the storytelling for the gameplay."
"The storytelling and gameplay are seamlessly integrated. That's the most important thing, and people enjoy that experience. We are not trying to make movies."
When asked whether he has any personal request for Naughty Dog for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End? Yoshida replied:
"I just asked "please make a great game" and they will make a great game. I'm totally confident. I'd rather not want to know the games in development too much, because that ruins my experience."
"That's the good and bad part of my job: I have access to games so early in development and I'm not able to enjoy games like many people would."
You can watch the full video interview here. The Last of Us: Remastered is scheduled to launch on July 29, whereas Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will arrive at some point in 2015 exclusively for Playstation 4.
