Today, Hacker Group "Lizard Squad" hacked Sony's Playstation Network and subscribers were unable to sign-in or access services.
The official confirmation of DDOS attack on Playstation Network was confirmed by Sony's Online Entertainment President "John Smedley", and Shuhei Yoshida via Twitter.
"We are under attack by a large scale ddos. Being dealt with but it will impact games until its handled." tweeted John Smedley.
However, things are under control now, as per the details latest update we received from John Smedley. Just few minutes ago, Smedley tweeted: "It's almost under control now. Sorry for the inconvenience."
So what exactly is the reason behind this latest DDOS attack of Playstation Network? Lizard Squad states that Sony are not spending premium money they charged from consumers to protect its network from DDOS attack.
An update from official Lizard Squad Twitter account reads:
"Sony, yet another large company, but they aren't spending the waves of cash they obtain on their customers' PSN service. End the greed."
@dspfan @PlayStation Yeah, that's kinda what we're preaching. They should be paying for DDoS protection with your premiums
