Dev Explains What Went Wrong During Uncharted 4: A Thief's End E3 2015 Demo On Stage, It Was Not Game Freeze Issue
Closing PlayStation E3 2015, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has encountered several issues that people on the Internet misinterpreted as game freezes. On the PlayStation LiveCast, game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Druckmann have commented what happened to make some clarity on it.
Based on what they said, Straley, who "almost had a heart attack", didn't attend any of the dress rehearsals and couldn't find a working DualShock 4 when he went on stage. When he found a lit-up controller, he took it but nothing happened on screen.
A backup controller didn't work as well so they had to restart the demo for the first time. Hitting the PlayStation Button on that DualShock, anyway, Straley powered up a secondary unit that was in the backstage in case of emergency. People around him understood that on the fly so they connected the secondary unit to the big screen in the theater, and when the demo started up Nathan "luckily he moved".
You can check the issues we've been talking so far going ahead to 1:34:45 of the press conference. Anyway, bear in mind the demo was amazing with those problems too.
