Destiny 2: 30FPS Confirmed For PS4 And XB1, 4K On PS4 Pro, Dev Explains Why PC Version Has Been Delayed
Bungie yesterday talked extensively about Destiny 2 PC version. The developer showcased the gameplay of Destiny 2 on PC having specs: i7-7700K 4.2GHz with 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1080Ti graphics card, and then went on to confirmed some of the PC-specific features such as (3820x2160) resolution support, Uncapped framerate, full mouse and keyboard support with custom key mapping, Text chat, Adjustable Field of View, Detailed PC settings screen, 21:9 monitor support.
What about the Destiny 2 console version? In a recent interview with our friend at Heavy, Bungie's David Shaw (the man who is leading the development work of Destiny 2 on PC) revealed that Destiny 2 console port will run at 30FPS. To me, this doesn't come as a surprise just because of one reason the sheer size of Destiny 2 promised by Bungie.
In addition to this, Shaw also revealed that on PlayStation 4 Pro, Destiny 2 will run at 4K Resolution. When asked addition Project Scorpio port? Shaw stated that they are awaiting a green single from Microsoft before making any commitment or announcement.
Furthermore, Shaw stated that the development team considering adding Cross-Play feature support to Destiny 2 (as demanded by Destiny community), but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
The one sad news that came out from the yesterday's Destiny 2 gameplay reveal was that the PC version of the game will not release on September 8 (the release date of Destiny for PS4 and Xbox One). Our friend at PC Gamer got in touch with Bungie's Luke Smith to know the exact reason behind the delay of Destiny 2 PC port, and this is what he said:
"We're not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie, we're totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can. Our partnership with Blizzard and being on Battle.net, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it's a delicious piece of bread when it comes out."
So there you have it, folks, Destiny 2 on PS4 and Xbox One will run at 30FPS. Looks like everything sorted out now. Check out how stunning the game looks on PC in these two 4K screenshots.
