Rumor - PS4 Slim Getting A Permanent Price Drop In August 2017, New Low Price Is $270
Xbox One X is scheduled to launch in November 2017, and this time around there is no direct competition from Sony i.e. they are not releasing a new PlayStation console to compete directly against Xbox One X (like we saw during Xbox One and PlayStation 4). Does this means, Xbox One X is going to have a dream run during the all important Holiday Season 2017? Nope, not at all because no direct competition from Sony doesn't mean there is no alternative. According to the report coming out from a Target employee, PlayStation 4 Slim is going to get a permanent price drop later this month.
On Reddit, the Target employee wrote that there is a new AD/Promotional material related to PlayStation 4 Slim Uncharted 4 bundle, and it states that the bundle is going to be available at a new low price of $269.99 on August 13.
"I work at Target, and we get the ads in a week or two early so that all of the employees know what is going to be on sale. So that we can do the markdowns and the proper signage. And, Our new ad for next week says that the PS4 Slim bundle with Uncharted 4 is now going to retail for the new low price of $269.99."
The interesting thing to note here is the term "New Low Price". A clear indication that this is going to be a permanent price drop. If Sony is really planning a price drop of PlayStation 4 Slim then they will surely announce it in a big way, so I am expecting a word from them in coming few days on August 13 is not too far away.
We have heard from many analysts Sony is going to tackle the Xbox One X launch with a price drop for PlayStation 4 Pro. Is that move coming from Sony on the launch day of Xbox One X? Anything is possible. What do you guys think? Share your opinion with us in the comment section below.
