PSP firmware update 6.39 available for download

As promised, Sony has released the new firmware 6.39 for PSP. The firmware is not available for download directly from the XMB of Playstation Portable.

This new firmware update for the handheld leads you through PSN password change process, and also improve system stability of the PSP.

Sony has been very busy for last few hours, first the company activated Playstation Plus 60 days Welcome Back Subscription, and then PSN will be down for maintenance from "16:00 on Tuesday 24 May", and just now this new firmware update. All these things raises only one question, Is Playstation Store will be restored today?

i downloaded it straight from the psp... it did NOT lead me through a password change... still getting error 80550403 when i try to access account management...

Uhh; it IS available direct from the PSP XMB, and it does NOT lead you to a password change. Ghost in the machine?
