Microsoft issues Service Alert for Xbox Live, 360 owners not able to connect (Updated)

Microsoft has just update the current status of Xbox 360 official website, and to everyone's surprise it showing "Service Alert" messgae related to several other service as well including Xbox Live.

At present the alert message from Microsoft states that users may not be able to connect to Xbox Live through their Xbox 360. Users buying items from Xbox Live Marketplace with credit card of MSP may also face difficulties as well.

Here is the description of the problem that i am facing:

At present i am unable to sign into my Xbox Live account. Few minutes before, when i was signed in, i got disconnected from Xbox Live every time i loaded a game.

Update:

The service is back up and running again. It was just a small maintenance, as Microsoft was rolling out the cloud service for users.
