Playstation VITA development looks retro?

Playstation VITA is not even released, but many people after seeing the development Kit picture are saying that it looks retro.

Recently Johny Minkley, Eurogamer Writer on his personal twitter account posted a picture of PS VITA dev Kit and commented that, "Even though it’s not even out yet, the original PlayStation Vita dev kit already looks retro."
