DICE: "Sorry for confusion" NO need of MOH disc for BF3 beta

Earlier today DICE on official Battlefield Twitter account announced that MOH disc is needed if Battlefield 3 fans need to enjoy closed beta of the game.

Battlefield 3

However just a few minutes ago DICE issued a new statement on Twitter and said, "Sorry for the confusion, the MoH disc will NOT be needed for the closed beta. ^WS".

So i hope it all clear now.. MOH is not at all needed to enjoy upcoming Battlefield 3 closed beta.

ha! while you may not need the physical disk, you will need to install it at least once on your machine so the MOH LE entitlement is read to EA's servers. Otherwise, your open beta code will not work :(

Even though DICE said that the beta release is suppose to be on 9/11/11, why isn't there a beta? Its been over 48 hours and an open beta should be here already. I want to fly a jet already!! lol

they actually denied it would be released on the 11th... The PC Beta is finnished and ready to be released however DICE said they are waiting on Microsoft and Sony to approve the consel versions... that can take several weeks... however DICE did say "It will be released in September". It's still September and we are waiting... just hold on a little longer... the Beta will be here soon

im still unsure about the whole BETA thing! So there are TWO BETA versions due out then soon? Is there ONE for people who have been invited becuase they have played previous versions of BF then? And then ANOTHER OPEN BETA that anyone can play? Why make it so complicated?

I think it's going to work like this, Those who pre order off origin and the people who bought MH will get a key to the closed beta which seems to be 48 hours before the open as origin says "48hr early access" and it also says "consumers who bought Medal of Honor Limited Edition or Tier 1 Edition already have this reward" Therefore these people will get to play closed beta and then 48 hours after it should become open beta so everyone else can play it. I hope this helps, also lucky BF Veterans got Alpha invites and probably won't get closed beta invites.

"also lucky BF Veterans got Alpha invites and probably won't get closed beta invites." - Not true. I got my "reserved beta spot" email the same time I got my Alpha invite in my email. If you order the origin version or had the MoH key, you'll get the closed beta... so what... 2 days?

Yes, if you order the origin version or had the MoH key you'll get in the closed beta which is for 2 days after that it opens up to everyone.
