Hines: Players cannot disable Blood/Gore in Skyrim

Teenage fans of Skyrim out there, bad news for all of you. VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda Pete Hines has confirmed that Skyrim gamers cannot disable Blood/Gore in the game. So if you are among one of those hoping to convince your parents to purchase Skyrim as long as you turn the blood off, you are not so LUCKY.

Pete Hines confirmed on Twitter, "You cannot disable blood/gore in Skyrim. Sorry. My oldest kid is not happy he can't play either."

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim got M for Mature rating from ESRB for blood and gore, intense violence, sexual themes, and use of alcohol. So i don't think so Blood/Gore is the only reason parents will stop buying Skyrim for their Children.

What you guys think on this. Let us know in the comment section below.

Yes, this sucks. My wife and I, we are playing these games together and she is absolutely against gore and strong violance. We got this game for the XBOX360. I don't get this decision. Why don't they just leave it to the players to active or deactive the display of blood and gore?

It's a shame you bought a console version Traci. Had you bought the PC version, you'd just have to wait a few weeks until the mod community releases a "no gore" patch.

Fear Not Traci, if you wait a bit I'm sure the PC modders will remove or tone down the gore.

SPOILERS I saw leaked footage of the beginning part of the game where a guy got executed by getting his head chopped off from a giant axe. Head falls info pit bucket, corpse is very visible with his head gone. Then you were the next one and you put your head where the guy got his head chopped off, and the spot wasn't cleaned. Wonder how that would be fixed?

It sucks. My husband and I are both fans of the game but not gore. We have three young kids and no time to play anything we cant play around them. And I LOVE these games, which is a miracle in itsself. I hate most games (not an understatement) and look forward to the next in line on these for years!! I just bought a PS3 just to play this and I am Pissed off.
