Recently at "Tested.com" video show Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter explained why he doesn't consider Wii U as the next generation console, and also said that this is one reason why Microsoft isn't of it at all.

Ninteno Wii UPachter said that Nintendo's Wii U is an "Xbox 360 with a tablet controller and is likely going to come out at a higher price point that the 360 at the time."

Pachter explained, "And again, I take a lot of shit for this: their next gen system is a current gen system… But people who go, ‘well what are Microsoft and Sony going to do to catch up with Nintendo?’, they don’t care. Microsoft especially is not afraid of the Wii U. They look at the Wii U as an Xbox 360 with a tablet controller and is gonna likely come out at a higher price point that the 360 at the time."

Do you agree with Pachter, Wii U is not a next generation console? let us know in the comment section below.

From everything I read the WiiU is approximately 50% more powerful than the PS3, which is more powerful than the 360, so he is WRONG again. As long as it is running the same 3rd party games as the 360 and the PS3, the Wii U will not be beat. And for Nintendo's bread and butter, (their 1st party games) will look and feel very next gen to all that play them, which is just about everyone.

Everything that Pachter says gives me the feeling he really doesn't understand video gaming. He understands specs and that's it. Pachter judges every console by processing power and graphic capability. Never once has he ever had an analysis or input which took in to account the gaming "experience", because he is completely unfamiliar with the gaming experience. He doesn't know, and doesn't care about this aspect of the video game market and therefore he should not be an analyst for the video game market.
