Satoru Iwata: Wii U will launch by end of 2012

Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has confirmed that Wii U will launch this holiday season in North America, Japan, Europe and Australia. The launch window was confirmed during an earnings conference in Osaka today.

During the earnings conference, Satoru Iwata also spoke about 3DS. He said the firm plans to launch major game for the handled, and with this and other measure, Nintendo expects to return to track of profit in upcoming fiscal year.

Earlier today, it was reported by anonymous developer that Wii U is twice as more powerful as Microsoft's Xbox 360, however Nintendo has not yet released any official details regrading hardware specification of Wii U.
