Update:

Hector Martin has shared some more words on Wii U CPU Clock Speed. According to him, Wii U CPU isn’t much worse than Xbox 360 CPU:

"So yes, the Wii U CPU is nothing to write home about, but don’t compare it clock per clock with a 360 and claim it’s much worse. It isn’t."

Finally after weeks of waiting, Wii U CPU and GPU clock speeds has been revealed. Well known hacker Marcan (Hector Martin) has discovered Wii U CPU and GPU clock speed, and guess what guys these are slower than current generation consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360).

Wii UOn Twitter, Digital Foundry asked Marcan, "@marcan42 Any ideas on CPU clock speed?". To this he simply replied, "1.243125GHz, exactly. 3 PowerPC 750 type cores (similar to Wii's Broadway, but more cache). GPU core at 549.999755MHz."

Marcan also revealed that Wii U easier to hack than Wii. He tweeted that Nintendo is "calling the WiiU security processor the Starbuck (vs. Starlet on Wii). And it seems to be about equally vulnerable, too."

The slow Wii U CPU and GPU Clock Speeds as compared to PS3 and 360 might be the only reason why some third-party games (like Black Ops 2 and Mass Effect 3) unable to maintain a steady frame rate.
