Metroid: Other M Review - Nintendo Wii

Metroid: Other M is the third game in the Metroid Series and going by its gameplay experience we had from start to finish it gives out the feel that the developer has focus much on the story and to give gamers an advance gameplay feeling. Each and every minute details in the game has been finely monitored and develop in a brilliant way. As a whole Metroid: Other M is a package of emotional tale with a slice of adventure wrapped on it to give a best game in the Metroid series.

The Story:

The story of Metroid: Other M unfold between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. It opens up with a showcasing the final battle with Mother Brain that took place in Super Metroid. Samas has escape the explosion of Planet Zebed and awakes directly on Galactic Federation ship. On receiving the Baby's Cry from Bottle Ship she leaves Federation Ship and step onto it. On reaching the ship she cam in contach with some of the GF solider which is headed by Anthony Higgs (her old colleague who fought along side her) and Adam Malkovich (Commanding officer when Samus was in Federation Army).

An untowards incident unfold which result in Samus leaving the army and Adam calling her an outsider and ordering all his team member not to reveal anything details about their mission specially to her. The High

The Basic is Intact

The developer had done a wise job of keeping the basic intact in Metroid: Other M. If we leave behind some of the minute tweak such as players being able to recharge their missile and health by being defenseless for short time period, all other basic things are nicely handled and accounted for. And for sure its the best game in Metroid series.

Game Controls:

The game control fast and simple and it is much much enjoyable also. Samus is mostly controlled Wii remote by holding it horizontally. Auto-targeting to some extent is not perfect but it has been cover up by the ability to dodge and attack by pressing in any direction on D-Pad before the attack of enemy. The simplicity is nicely acknowledge by complexity, it is in the form of a first person mode that is point the Wii remote at screen to switches perspective.

Tough Challenge from Bosses in the Game

Fighting Combat is bit low but this doesn't implies that there isn't any tough challenge for the players from bosses and mini-bosses in the game. Many of the powerful boss in the game require a well planned strategy and a switch between first and third person.

The Low

Certain Limitation Beyond Understanding

Right from the beginning of the game Samus has all the arm and ammunition in her kit which includes super missile, power bombs, wave beam and many more thing. Now came the important thing Samus cannot use all this weapons because she is not authorized by the head of the team. Isn't in stupid to have all the powerful armor in the kit but lock.

Too Many Cut-scenes

Metroid: Other M is a storytelling game title but it consist of too many unnecessary cut-scene and many of them run too long. At some point of game just because of this cut-scene that gameplay experience gets a bit boring and you can also say it a concentration breaker.

3D World

The game 3D presentation in the game gives out lots of cool visual and scene which are really fun to watch and navigate but the real issue is with control. Navigation with the D-Pad is a bit frustration that at some of the important sequence but thanks to the developer that Other M is more about combat.

Conclusion:

Metroid: Other M as a whole is well develop game title which will satisfy the fans of the series as the basic in the game is untouch. Leaving behind the initial few hours of the game it has lots of fun to offer to its players. So GO FOR IT.
