When a certain game is announced these days, everyone is interested in the resolution and fps figures at which the game will run. Games now, are not only a matter of controls, gameplay or plot, rather, the main reason people buy a game is the Graphics or visuals.

We are in an era where High Definition,1080p and smooth graphics are the basic requirements of a video game irrespective of the console it is being played on. Thanks to a number of people who have strived to create powerful hardware which is capable of delivering fluid high-tech visuals.

Best Looking Games of 2014

Here, I have tried to list the games with such kind of super smooth Graphics released in 2014 for various gaming consoles and PC. Go through the list and tell your opinions in the comment section.

Driveclub (PS4)

Driveclub is created using the In-house engine graphics engine by Evolution Studios exclusively for PlayStation 4. Considering the plot of this game it was not revolutionary, a simple racing simulation title. But what makes Driveclub absolutely stand out in this genre: Graphics. DriveClub is focused on eye candies: realistic engine tones and a dynamic weather system.

DriveClub

Driveclub can be divided into two main components, environments and cars. Both are amazingly detailed considering the elements like reflections, light, shadows. As mentioned earlier the dynamic weather system make you wait and admire the efforts taken to create the beautiful sky. As it is generated dynamically, movements of the clouds and light rays are hard to miss in the excellent 1080p. Sunrises and sunsets are as beautiful as the pitch black and eerie nights.

The developers have painstakingly created the cars to match their real counterparts which sometimes made me stop and just take a look at my vehicle. The interior or cockpit in flawlessly designed. Driveclub is one of the most photorealistic game available on the PlayStation 4 right now. Evolution Studios created such hues using the power of the PlayStation 4 which have decreased the gap between the real and graphic world.

Assassin's Creed Unity (PC)

People were a bit concerned about the PC version of Assassin's Creed Unity, Ubisoft had announced that the game will run on Nvidia GTX 680. This was the bare minimum requirement. While gamers were busy figuring out if they want to buy Assassin's Creed Unity in the first place a new trailer was launched which cleared the thick haze of confusion.

Assassin's Creed Unity

Assassin's Creed Unity looks amazing regardless of the graphics card you use. Having said that, some minor features are not available on Radeon also, but it is not the question of life and death. Ubisoft's AC: Unity is created using the AnvilNext game engine which uses 3ds Max for environment and ZBrush for characters creations.

If you are playing this game using Nvidia, you will notice that the antialiasing cleans up the jagged lines and texture shimmer of this game very well. The most impressive part is the lighting and the shadows illusions it creates.

Ryse: Son Of Rome (PC)

Even though this 2013 Xbox game did nothing special in terms of gameplay to impress the most elite PC owners, the above par graphics did win some hearts. Ryse: Son Of Rome can be termed as the game which made the best use of Cry Engine 3 so far.

Ryse: Son Of Rome

The overall high graphical performance including art direction and cinematics satisfied my need for high end graphics. Ryse: Son Of Rome is an action game which includes continuous combat and kudos to Crytek Frankfurt for developing the brutal action so well.

Shiny red globs of blood splashing with each cut on the enemy combined with overall fluid animations and and amazing sound effects add to the fun. If you have a decent rig, this game will have minimum to no issues running smoothly on it. The quality does not fade even when running this game on medium and low setting as well.

Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)

Why this mind blowing sequel made its way into our list is not a question to answer just like that, play this amazing Platinum Games' creation and get the answer. Bayonetta 2 was described as a stunningly deep game with gorgeous visuals. The two people who deserves all the credit for creating the Goddess of lust Bayonetta and her evil villains are Mari Shimazaki and Yusuke Hashimoto who put in their super HD imagination into the game.

Bayonetta 2

Bayonetta 2 offers beautifully detailed environments in the awesome HD quality. What I personally admire is the use of contrasting hues in this game. Glistening gold on white buildings with a pale blue sky and the bright sunlight complete with darker outfits for the characters.

Bayonetta 2 carries on the action-style gameplay of its predecessor, in which players control the eponymous Bayonetta as she fights against various angelic and demonic forces using combinations of melee attacks and gunplay.
