Top 7 PS4 Related Announcements Expected From Sony At E3 2015: Gran Turismo 7, Guerrilla's Horizon, Uncharted 4 & More
It's been a week full of emotions for PlayStation 4 owners and fans. In just a few days we have witnessed the unexpected delay of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, now slated for Spring 2016, and The Tomorrow Children, that was about to ship and has been given a new release date fixed to this summer. But it's been the week of Titanfall 2 getting officially multi-platform, too, with Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella giving the news during the BAFTA Game Awards: a great news, let me tell you, for Sony and their supporters, as the first release of the series was a PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One affair only.
Everyone is already looking at E3 2015, anyway, to have more news about PlayStation 4 and see the console's portfolio getting bigger and bigger (and better and better, on the quality side). Today we are ready to share with you a list of speculations and predictions that regard the upcoming Sony keynote for the Los Angeles long-awaited event. There, we will see how months of rumors finally evolve into announcements and live demonstration, but for now we can only guess what is about to happen in June and work on the few info we already own.
Another Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Demo With Release Date
The recent delay could have harmed PlayStation fans' trust in Naughty Dog and the Uncharted series, so Sony knows they have to recover quickly. The best way to do that is to show the game running live for the second time ever (the first was at PlayStation Experience last December) and provide a new, more specific release date, as Spring 2016 is a long time frame and it could mean almost everything from March to June. We could be seeing new features studied specifically for PlayStation 4 hardware, improvements in graphics and stability, and maybe something multiplayer-related that could boost the competitive side of the latest Nathan Drake adventure.
Guerrilla's PS4 Exclusive RPG Full Reveal
Guerrilla Games is known to be working on something other than the Killzone series, that is expected to take a pause or pass in the hands of Sony Cambridge after Shadow Fall debut in the current generation. So, we know for sure that the Dutch software house is working on a third person game, that could be named Horizon and could possibly be a complete change of genre for its habit: a role playing game. As it would be something able to meet western audience tastes, we should be talking about a Mass Effect-like RPG. It is not excluded, considering the title, an adventure located entirely in the space or in the future, anyway.
Ratchet & Clank (PS4) Demo With Release Date
The insider Shinobi recently shared with the world the news of an upcoming reboot from a long-running series that made PlayStation history. We know that Insomniac Games has something in the works after the success of Sunset Overdrive, so it possibly is the software house that could could handle the Ratchet & Clank return on PS4. As Knack failed to impress and become the new platform genre point of referral, Sony truly needs it to return and get back at the franchise's maximum golden age.
Sony Bend's PS4 Exclusive Game Demo/Teaser Trailer
Am I the only one who would get crazy at the announcement of a Syphon Filter reboot by Sony Bend? We know that the studio, that took care of Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PlayStation Vita, is working on a third person shooter for PlayStation 4, so… my hopes are not so far-fetched. I would exclude a new IP for the portable console, as Sony doesn't seem to interested in saving it. We will quite surely see the game running at the platform holder keynote in Los Angeles.
Indie Games: Rime, The Witness, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, No Man's Sky
Indie games have a big role in shaping the PlayStation 4 lineup. Four of them will possibly be protagonists of E3 2015, with new trailers released and their street date finally unveiled. I believe we will see No Man's Sky and The Witness this year, while we will have to wait some more time for Rime and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, that we have so far seen only in pre-rendered videos. It is not be excluded that both of them will get back in the spotlight with big step forward already made, but I think the development process will go through 2016 in those cases.
Project Morpheus Release Date, Price And Games
Project Morpheus was among the protagonists at GDC 2015, with the presentation of a new prototype that is able to run images at 120fps and the announcement that the device will be out in the first half of 2016. Sony could have shared those info at the Game Developers Conference because the audience is much more technical over there, so they are possibly willing to show more games-related contents at E3 2015 to build up Morpheus' launch line-up. Another option could be the VR device not showing up at all at E3 2015 and being protagonist with the first games at the next PlayStation Experience, that would be slated just a minimum of three and a maximum of six months before the arrival of Morpheus on the market. My bet is on the second hypothesis, at least if Sony can keep the promise of releasing the device in 2016, with a price of $249-299.
Gran Turismo 7
The highest point of the E3 2015 Sony conference could be the announcement of Gran Turismo 7. The latest episode of the series, released at the end of PS3 lifecycle, was just a slight improvement over Gran Turismo 5, so fans are expecting a new great leap for the franchise to both show up PlayStation 4's power and counteract the upcoming Forza Motorsport 6. If Polyphony Digital really makes an announcement in Los Angeles, the racing game could release in the glory of 1080p and 60fps, supporting VR as the franchise did with 3D, in 2016.These are our speculations based on rumors and info showing up during the last few weeks and months: what about you?
