Top 8 Xbox One Announcements From Microsoft At E3 2015: Scalebound, Crackdown, Gears of War Remastered & More

The road to E3 2015 is still pretty long, as we are three months away from the press conferences that will officially open up the event, but the hype is yet running wild in our gamers' veins. Many announcements are expected to be made, and many titles that were just announced in the previous events will probably show all of their potential before the official release. Microsoft has at least four or five games that will have new demos during the keynote, thanks to a strong line-up of already known titles, but a few unexpected entries would not surprise anyone.

Xbox One At E3 2015

We have worked on a list of speculations and tips based on the recent rumors and the official statements we have been gathering during the last months, so we can try and predict what's going to happen at the Microsoft pre-E3 2015 press conference. Here you have it and, as usual, let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.

HALO 5: DEMO AND RELEASE DATE

Halo 5

It's about time! Halo 5: Guardians is slated for 2015 and, after a successful closed beta, we are ready to see some live footage from the single-player campaign. We are not expecting spoilers or details about the storyline, as Microsoft has always been pretty jealous, but any clue regarding the graphics is welcome: after the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's delay, we are still waiting for the true next-generation to show up… Talking about the release date, at this point we predict it to be slated more precisely for the end of September or the first half of October.

RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER: DEMO AND RELEASE DATE

Rise of the Tomb Raider

The next chapter in the new Lara Croft's journey is about to release, as it is slated for Holiday 2015. We have seen just a couple of CGI trailers and screenshots so far, so we are expecting in-game and live footage from the pre-E3 2015 Microsoft conference, and fresh details about the storyline and the evolution of the characters met in the first Tomb Raider (2013). Rise of the Tomb Raider is a Xbox 360 and Xbox One exclusive, so we are pretty sure Microsoft will work to have it as polished as possible in time for its keynote. The game should ship in November.

GEARS OF WAR COLLECTION ANNOUNCED WITH RELEASE DATE

Gears of War Remastered for Xbox One

Gears of War Collection (or Remastered, if you prefer) will be announced at pre-E3 2015 Microsoft press conference. Microsoft is working on it, even though we don't know if it will release in time for 2015 or will be available in Q1/Q2 2016 to ease fan's wait for Black Tusk's Gears of War. We predict we will see a trailer with in-game scenes and all the details about the contents of the collection, that should include the first three episodes of the series, the ones that see Marcus Fenix as the protagonist

BLACK TUSK'S GEARS OF WAR (XBOX ONE) TEASER

Gears of War 4

It's too early to think we will see any in-game scene from Black Tusk's Gears of War for Xbox One, but we are sure we will have a new teaser and some clue about the storyline of the game. Marcus Fenix will be once again the protagonist. The best hypothesis is a release for Holiday 2016, when Black Tusk and Microsoft will have worked on the new title for at least two or three years. Take a look at our feature: Gears of War 4: Things We Want to See

CRACKDOWN: NEW TRAILER AND RELEASE WINDOW

Crackdown was among the protagonists at pre-E3 2014 Microsoft press conference, even though it showed up with just a pre-rendered trailer. For this year's edition we are expecting a new trailer with in-game scenes and a release window, as the game will probably be slated for the second half of 2016. We will see new details about the game's cloud-powered features and the developer, too.

DEMOS FROM SCALEBOUND, FORZA MOTORSPORT 6 AND QUANTUM BREAK WITH RELEASE DATES

Scalebound

Talking about first-party games, Microsoft has still three AAA titles to show up and detail: those are Scalebound, Forza Motorsport 6 and Quantum Break. We will see for sure new trailers and probably release dates for each of them. Scalebound will have a solid release date in the first half of 2016, while Forza Motorsport 6 is expected between the end of September and the beginning of October – there won't be any delay and that's for sure. Regarding Quantum Break, it is almost official that the game won't ship in 2015: we are pretty sure that we won't have a firm release date at E3 2015, just a new trailer and “2016” at the end of it. There will be time to talk more specifically about the date, we think.

RARE AND OTHER UNANNOUNCED STUFF

Rare Xbox One New IP

Rare is hard at work on some old properties from its long-running and acclaimed history, but we don't know yet what will actually see the light of the day. There's lot of buzz about Battletoads, that will be among the protagonists in Shovel Knight Xbox One's roster, so that could be an easy bet. Banjo and Kazooie could make a return, too, giving a long desidered 3D platform to the current-gen Microsoft's platform, while we don't think we'll see any Perfect Dark around – even though that could be the perfect FPS franchise to alternate with the Halo series. Hopefully there won't be any Kinect-related stuff.

Project Hololens

Project HoloLens For Xbox One

Project Hololens could be part of the show, too, but only with a couple of prototypes (the new version of Minecraft, for example) or with some spectacular visual effect to enrich the presentation. No other technical details or info about the release are expected at this point.
