Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition’s announcement at E3 2016 has definitely created some controversy, especially among console gamers who feel like Bethesda shouldn’t be charging the full $60 price even if they owned the original game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox One.
In statements we have already reported, Bethesda’s marketing VP Pete Hines has already provided his version, where he basically said PS4 and Xbox One are being offered at a price which is regular for standard remasters.
On PC it’s a totally different beast, he thinks, because PC users own a version – the Legendary one – that’s completely the same and is not taking advantage neither of mod nor of high resolution textures (they’re already available over there). So it looked obvious to give the Special Edition for free to all of them.
Now, as we’re seeing a lot of you don’t think it like that, and would love to have Skyrim: Special Edition for free or at least at a price that takes into consideration the fact they’ve played the original PS3/Xbox 360 for ages, we’re asking you to speak your mind in our poll you can see below this article.
Is Bethesda right when it demands you to pay the full price on Skyrim: Special Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Even though it adds high resolution textures, mods and every additional content ever released for the original Skyrim? Let us know your opinion.
