There is no match to high end gaming consoles; they are huge and solely dedicated to games. But these days we are surrounded by technologies which are part and parcels of life. Devices to which we wake and sleep: our cell phone or tablet. Most of us enjoy gaming on this omnipresent device. And Android has enriched this experience. From high end 3 dimension graphical games to simple single dimension ones, all types of games can be enjoyed on this operating system.
Android is becoming so powerful that I feel it will dominate next gen mobile gaming as it’s dominating now. Let’s see why I feel so..
First and foremost because it is Open Source
The colossal reason for Androids success would be that it is Open Source unlike iOS, attracting more number of manufacturers in future. Tons of Creative minds are at force for its betterment. Android application or as fondly known ‘apps’, and games, are not only developed by huge organizations for profit gaining purposes but also by smaller companies and individuals, as the nature of open source software enables individual developers to easily afford development kits, if you have an idea in mind you can go ahead and try to execute it, unlike iOS or Windows where if one feels that a certain app or game can be improved, but there is no other way than to wait for the release of a better version of that particular app or game. Android is just about all of our ability to think dynamic and develop amazing apps and games.
According to Developer Economics Q3 2013 analyst report, a developer survey conducted in April–May 2013 found that Android is the most popular platform for developers, used by 71% of the mobile developer population. Actually this fact doesn’t amaze me, with such vast area for improvement, availability of source code and fresh innovative ideas, this number will definitely rise.
Android is also the Apple of the eye (no pun intended!!) of leading mobile brands like Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Sony etc…They are smart enough to foresee the success of this ever evolving operating system. They have created some of the most stunning devices such as Samsung Galaxy Note, Sony Xperia Tablet, HTC One, Motorola Droid Maxx, Google Nexus and many more. (Aahh! I have not mentioned that one!!)
Secondly android is People’s Favorite
People are going mobile, and they love Android! It is a complete entertainment package; they are getting high end applications at an affordable price. Anyone would want the most out of what they pay and with Android they are getting more than the most. A normal working individual does not have time to setup complex consoles and then indulge in gaming after a lengthy startup process. That person needs a break, to free his/her mind. That individual will turn to quick methods and the quickest is their mobile phones or tablets, while traveling, while in the loo! or even as a simple pass time.
People carry these devices wherever they go. They use mobiles or tabs to play games. There are so many discussions reasoning the success of android as its comparatively lower prices. (Personally, I do not agree) Most of us buy our gadgets according to our needs and Android is satisfying them.
Also because it is Light on the pocket
Since Androids release in 2008, it is rapidly dominating the charts. Android sales saw a significant rise from the second quarter of 2010. An amazing fact according to mobile statistics.com is ‘The height of 327 empire state buildings is equal to the number of Android phones sold per day!!’
Now if that is to be believed, competitors like Apple, Windows etc… should gear up to be ready for a battle! Android is light on the pocket for consumers as well as developers. As compared to iphones, ipads or Windows phones and tablets, Android powered devices show mercy on our pockets. Now why do Android devices cost less, because they use plastic? Or are they successful because they cost lesser?
The sole answer would be because they are good! Android is an evolving operating system. If something is average, make it better. And for those who call themselves elite only because you have some i attached to your devise, you will be switching to Android soon!!
And last but definitely not the least: Powerful hardware
With each version of Android getting released, quality and capability of hardware is improving.
When Galaxy Note was released it had Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), 5.29″ HD Super AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM and a 1.5 GHz Dual-core processor, Galaxy Note II was upgradable to Android 4.1.3 (Jelly Bean), it had a 5.5 HD Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM and 1.6 GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 CPU. As when Galaxy Note III was released it had Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), 5.7″ Super AMOLED display, Octa-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 and 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 (GSM version) 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (LTE version) and a 3GB LPDDR3 RAM.
With each generation of devices or each versions of android operating system, we will witness the world of not only visually amazing games but also superior gameplay, higher speeds and complete heart filling experience.
These were the main reasons as to why android will dominate next gen mobile gaming.if u guys have anything to add to this, it will be interesting to know.
