As far as to what we have understood every faction in the game is extremely radical other than the Minutemen who can be kind of lenient in their views. Pros and Cons of Each Factions
Before we begin with the Pros and Cons of Each faction we want you to know this guide is not about which faction offers the best gear or quest or anything it is purely based on how each faction varies on their goals. Brotherhood of Steel
The Brotherhood of Steel has always been portrayed as aloof, as time went on more negative aspects of their beliefs have been increasingly emphasized as their power has decreased.
They want the Commonwealth to be free initially like the Minutemen. The Brotherhood of Steel is backed by centuries of training and technology such as the military with divisions, ranks, duties, and specialist. This can be a major plus point to help Commonwealth with a wide variety of things.
Intolerant by nature as time passes they start to hate all the synths, ghouls and other. All they need is to take them down or throw them out of the wasteland. Instead of maintaining the Peace in Commonwealth they choose to use their old world technology to take all of the outs which depend on which side you are on.
The Railroad maintain a network of safe houses and clandestine contacts reminiscent of their namesake, the 19th century Underground Railroad which helped slaves escape and reach free areas.
The Railroad also supports the same goals as the Institute, but for their own faction. If you want synths should be given the same rights that all humans then you can easily join this faction. According to The Railroad, Synths are indistinguishable from any human, physically or mentally, thus they must not be used as a work slaves.
Narrow and short-sighted goal than the rest of the factions as they only live to see Synths free from Institute. This makes Institute first on their Hitlist and once they destroy the Institute, they will get all the synths out and Set them free in the Commonwealth. Later, making people understand what are Synths and their real purpose which will avoid making others more paranoid.
The Institute is the most advanced scientific organization in the Commonwealth. Their Goal is to produce advanced synthetic humans(Synths) of high quality to pass as true humans.
The Institute thinks technology can help humans survive for long in such post-apocalyptic Boston. The Brotherhood of Steel also had similar goals, but with different intentions. The most important technology of the Institute are the Synths and other is the Teleportation. Their main goal is to promote technology which will help humans impervious to disease, hunger, never sleeps, and many more.
They are Firm in nature and they kidnap people to then replace them with Synth. This Creates a nightmare for most of the people in Commonwealth as they never informed them what is really gonna happen with them once they are kidnapped. If you wish to support their cause them this is definitely your faction to join.
The Minutemen are benign as factions go, and they choose to stay friendly to any of the other factions like The Institute, Brotherhood of Steel, or The Railroad.
We find it as the most Peaceful faction than any other faction in Fallout 4 as their primary goal is all about people helping people. They want everyone to get together and build a Commonwealth where everybody helps each other to survive and thrive. You can protect the Commonwealth wherever it's needed and support whenever you are called for.
Although keeping the peace as your goal doesn't win all of the players minds. They do lack in technology than any of the other factions also they can be counted as the weakest faction until you build them up, which takes time. The Soldiers which Minutemen has been 90% farmers with little training. Which makes this faction Vulnerable to any faction.
