Dark Souls 3: All Phantoms Colors and Types Guide
Phantoms in Dark Souls 3 are other players who join your game world and use them to guide you in-game. As a Ghost Phantom is summoned you cannot interact with them as they cannot do the same Online. This Guide will show you different types of Phantoms and how to differentiate them in the game.
Phantoms Colors and Types
Hosts, friendly, and hostile phantoms can get an Estus use back if another hostile or friendly phantom dies, but they will have half their current Estus charges when in a host's world, rounded down. If you want to know more about the game then do visit our Dark Souls 3 Wiki Guide for collectible location, rings, and best weapons list. So without any further ado, let's begin with the Phantom Colors and their types.
Whenever you see a Red Phantom near you this means this person just wants to duel with you. This Phantom has no Estus nor ganking so go ahead and take him down.
These Phantoms are most incandescent then the rest as these are Sunbro's beast and these are helpful Phantoms, unlike the White Signs Phantoms.
Golden Red Sign
These Phantoms are a mixture of the Red and Golden Phantoms so they are just a Golden Sunbro with Red Soapstone sign instead of white soapstone.
An unpredictable wildcard phantom where they can either kill you or help you. If you see a purple Sunbro then they are to help you, but cannot define how the rest will react.
Purple Red Sign
These Phantoms are part of the Mound Makers Covenant so take it easy and see what this Phantom has to offer you.
These Phantoms are part of the Blue Sentinels or the Darkmoon Blades, now it completely depends on you which item you are equipped. If you have the Way of the Blue Covenant then you will get invaded whenever you are fighting the Red Phantoms.
Blue With Red Sign
As there is a mix of Red Tint then the must be the followers of Aldrich or Watchdogs and whenever they summon later in the game they will come out to Kill you. Better be prepared.
Red Phantom with Golden and Purple Tint
These are special summon just to kill and take you down so understand when you summon a red phantom with soapstone more than 9 times they will not be the same as they were before.
These are the harmless phantoms which we mentioned above, you cannot interact with them in the game as these are just remnants of other players at the same point. There are two rings in the game which can change the Appearance of these Phantoms. Both the rings are available for purchase from Yuria of Londor:
Untrue White Ring:
This will make the Phantom player look like a friendly white phantom as far as they have the Ring equipped.
Untrue Dark Ring:
This will make the Phantom player look normal as they are are the host(without any glow) and they will have a title 'Host of Embers' above their head.
