Overwatch: Lucio, Mercy, Symmetra, and Zenyatta Support Heros Guide
Amongst 21 different Heros in Overwatch, they are categorized into four different section such as Offense, Defense, Tank, and Support. Those who didn't get the chance to play the open beta and get familiar with the characters here is a chance to know your character and this guide will show you tips on how each Hero works with attacks, defense, and his Abilities.
How to Play as Lucio
Lucio is challenging and a helping hero as he can provide a little bit of everything to allies in his support role whether it's boosting everyone's speed or healing or using his ultimate to give everyone around him a shield.
Similar to Genji, Lucio can Jump onto a wall to ride along it.
This ability is used to hit enemies with sonic projectiles or knock them back with a blast of sound.
This ability has two phase of healing and speed boost where he continuously energizes his nearby teammates with music. He can switch between two songs one amplifies movement speed while the other regenerates health.
Amp It Up
To Boost the power of Crossfade you can use the Ultimate Ability called AMP it Up and increases the volume on his speakers, boosting the effects of his songs.
- Lucio is Effective Against - D.Va, Reaper, and Winston
- Avoid Lucio From - McCree
How to Play as Mercy
Mercy may not get the offensive glory of some of the other heroes, but a well-played Mercy can make a team powerful.Mercy heals herself automatically for 25 HP/Second if she does not take damage for 3 seconds. Her pistol should only be used in extreme defensive emergencies.
Propelled by her Valkyrie suit, Mercy slows the speed of her descent from great heights.
This Ability is used to Engage one of two beams that connect to an ally. By maintaining the beams, she can either restore that ally’s health or increase the amount of damage they deal.
Used to shoot around from her sidearm. It's best reserved for emergency personal defense.
In this ability Mercy flies towards a targeted ally, allowing her to reach them quickly and provide assistance in crucial moments.
Being the Ultimate Ability you can radiate restorative power, bringing nearby dead allies back into the fight with full health. This only works for 15 meters and 2 seconds.
How to Play as Symmetra
Symmetra provides up to 6 small turrets which can be used to strategically defend an area. Her gun's offensive capabilities are limited to the beam only effective at extremely close range(5 meters). The projectiles are slow moving but can be multi-fired in less powerful bursts for moderate medium to long range effectiveness on stationary targets.
This is a weapon which emits a short-range beam that homes in on a nearby enemy. This provides a continuous damage that increases the longer it is connected or you can use it as a charged energy ball that deals high damage.
This will place a turret that will automatically fire speed-reducing blasts at the nearest enemy within range. You can only build up to 6 on the battlefield at once and the cooldown is 10 seconds.
This ability is used to surrounds an ally with a hard-light shield that absorbs damage and persists as long as that ally remains alive. The best part is the super cooldown which is only 1 second.
The Ultimate and one of my favorite ability where you place a teleporter exit pad at your current location, and connects it to a teleporter entry pad at your team’s starting point. This creates a portal for your allies to travel through the entry pad to the exit pad instantly, enabling them to return to the fight swiftly after being defeated.
- Symmetra is Effective Against - Genji, Tracer, Reaper, Reinhardt and Bastion
- Avoid Symmetra From - Pharah and Junkrat
How to Play as Zenyatta
Zenyatta can deal large amounts of damage on his own, but he is still quite fragile, backup is a preferable choice. He is a classic buff/debuff specialist. Use his orbs to mark the high priority targets for quick elimination like tanks and defenders. HIs ultimate can be a godsend in the middle of an intense firefight over a contested position. His ultimate's aura can also add to the confusion and he may draw fire from inexperienced players.
Orb of Destruction
This weapon can project a destructive energy orb or a rapid fire volley after a few seconds as a secondary weapon.
Orb of Harmony
This ability casts an orb over the shoulder of a targeted ally so long as you stay alive, the orb slowly restores health to his ally. Only one ally can receive the orb's benefit at a time.
Orb of Discord
Attach this Orb to your opponent in order to amplify the amount of damage they receive as long as you stay alive. Make sure only one opponent can suffer this effect at a time.
Being the Ultimate Ability your character enters a state of Heightened existence for 6 seconds and restore the health of nearby allies and himself.
- Zenyatta is Effective Against - Reinhardt, Winston, D.Va, and Zarya
- Avoid Zenyatta From - Widowmaker, Hanzo, Tracer, Genji and Reaper
