In Shadow of the Colossus, you can unlock two different time attack modes and each of these will give you special weapons and tools in the game.
In Shadow of the Colossus, you have to right with 16 colossi to complete the game. Each of them gets stronger and powerful till you reach the final one. After finishing the game there is more you can do in it. There is a new game+ mode that you can try out and earn some unique items that can help you in dealing with stronger enemies. The items that you can get are arrows, more damage strength, locations of lizards and fruits, etc.
How To Unlock New Game Plus Mode
To start with the new game plus mode it is not necessary to complete the game first. When you are on your way to locate a colossus you will find shrines on the path. Praying on this shrines will activate a Time Attack mode. Once you reach the shrine and pray you will get two Time Attack modes. One is Normal Time Attack Mode and another one is Hard Time Attack Mode.
Playing both of these will reward you cool weapons and tools that will ease your journey of hunting down the creatures. You will unlock these new items each time you beat minimum two colossi. To get your item you have to get back to the Shrine of Worship and pick them. Next time you can use it against monsters in the battle.
Below is the list of items you can get in Normal Time Attack Mode:
Defeat 2 Colossus:
- You can earn a Whistling Arrow, this one is good to distract or lure a colossus.
Defeat 4 Colossus:
- You can earn a Cloak of Force, by this you can deal more sword damage to a colossus.
Defeat 8 Colossus:
- You can earn a Lizard Detection Stone, you can get all 128 Lizard locations through this.
Defeat 10 Colossus:
- You can earn a Fruit TreeMap, you can use it to find fruit trees.
Defeat 12 Colossus:
- You can earn a Mask of Power, with it you can cause massive damage to Colossus.
Defeat 14 Colossus:
- You can earn a Cloak of Deception, using this you can turn invisible in front of a colossus.
Defeat 14 Colossus:
- You can earn Flash Arrow, this is an explosive arrow it can cause harm to a Colossus, it doesn’t matter if you heat the weak/soft spot or not.
Defeat 16 Colossus:
- You can earn Brown Horse, as the name says you can ride a brown house instead of black.

Defeat 2 Colossus:
- You can earn Harpoon of Thunder, a long range weapon you can use as a bow.
Defeat 4 Colossus:
- You can earn Sword of the Sun, with this your sword can now cast a light beam in shadows also.
Defeat 6 Colossus:
- You can earn Fruit Tree Map, this will mark all the trees located on the map.
Defeat 8 Colossus:
- You can earn Shaman’s Cloak, this will reduce you the damage you will take when attacked by a colossus.
Defeat 10 Colossus:
- You can earn Lizard Detection Stone, with the help of this stone you can find lizards with a whitetail.
Defeat 12 Colossus:
- You can earn Shaman’s Mask, use this to reduce damage in battle.
Defeat 14 Colossus:
- You can earn Cloth of Desperation, this will give you a parachute that you can use to save yourself from falls.
Defeat 16 Colossus:
- You can earn Queen’s Sword, a weapon from Ico.
So these are the list of unique items and weapons you can earn under the two different mode of the game.
