In this Dead Cells guide on Enemies, you will find the list of all Elite & Non-Elite enemies, their spawn locations, their attack style and cell drops, and tips on how to kill them.

Dead Cells are a different number of enemies with different stats and attack style. In this guide, you can find the list of all enemies, their way of the attack and how to tackle it. These enemies are random and will appear on different floors of the game, by killing them you also get a lot of drops like Health Items, Gold, Dead Cells, etc. Some will offer you blueprints or skills. Some enemies in Dead Cells fall under the Elite category which is bit stronger compared to the regular ones. Elite ones also drop runes, they can also summon other smaller enemies around them.

There are lots of enemies in Dead Cells, we sorted the Elites separately and the regular one separately with necessary information on their stats, attack style, etc.

List Of All Non-Elite Enemies

Bat:

Dead Cells Enemies List

Attacks: A bat is a flying enemy you will face in the game. They are not that threatening. They will dive-bomb towards you to attack. Bat uses charge attack and explodes near your shield.

How To Kill: You have to understand their flying pattern, as they stop moving you can then attack. Try to hit them out of the air before they attack you.

  • Location – Prisoners’ Quarters, Ramparts, Ancient Sewers, Ossuary & Forgotten Sepulchre.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (33%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Knife Dance (0.4%) & Oiled Sword (1.7%)

Protector:

Dead Cells Enemies List

Attacks: Protector is the shield dummies made of wood you will see in the game. They are the training dummy that does not move. But they can offer a force fields to other enemies in its range that will defend them from all kind of weapons and skill effects. There is a timer after which the shield drops.

How To Kill: Skill debuffs work on this enemy, you can stun it and also use a bleeding debuff on it. If you stun it the force will break. Take down the enemies around first, lure them out of the force field range and then attack the dummy.

  • Location – Promenade of the Condemned, Slumbering Sanctuary and Graveyard.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (66%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Corrupted Power (0.4%) & Explosive Decoy (0.4%).

Lieutenant:

Attacks: These are smaller enemies in a brown color that will span in the wake of elite enemies. They can move faster than normal zombie and attack with speed. They will slowly walk toward you and will try to scratch you.

How To Kill: They spawn in packs and will keep on re-spawning in a pack unless the Elite they are guarding is down. Once you kill the Elite the lieutenants will also die. You can dodge their attacks easily if you found them in pack focus on the leader.

  • Location – They will usually spawn in all zones where Elite enemies are present.

Lieutenant:

Attacks: These are smaller enemies in a brown color that will span in the wake of elite enemies. They can move faster than normal zombie and attack with speed. They will slowly walk toward you and will try to scratch you.

How To Kill: They spawn in packs and will keep on re-spawning in a pack unless the Elite they are guarding is down. Once you kill the Elite the lieutenants will also die. You can dodge their attacks easily if you found them in pack focus on the leader.

  • Location – They will usually spawn in all zones where Elite enemies are present.

Buzzcutter:

Attacks: This one looks like a huge red bug and it moves in a pack. It can perform melee attacks and has a pretty good speed.

How To Kill: As soon as you spot the bugs coming towards you attack with a slash. Then go back for a while and attack back. You will have to repeat this process many times to clear all.

  • Location – Ramparts, Ancient Sewers & Clock Tower
  • Cell Drops – 1 (33%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Shovel (0.4%) & Toxic Cloud (0.4%)

Kamikaze:

Attacks: This one is a flying enemy that comes with only one attack and that is exploding. The enemy will be in sleep mode hidden underside of platforms or tunnel. It will awaken when you are in a range and follow you, it can also fly through walls.

How To Kill: The enemy is weak, you can hit it with one strike to kill it. You can also attack with a weapon or throw a bomb from a distance. Just avoid the enemy to explode near you.

  • Location – Toxic Sewers, Ancient Sewers, Prison Depths, The Stilt Village, Graveyard, Slumbering Sanctuary & Forgotten Sepulchre.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (33%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Frantic Sword (0.4%)

Spiker:

Attacks: This enemy can summon damaging spikes below your feet, you just have to dodge that on the right moment to avoid health damage. But if you fall after it comes out then it won’t cause any damage. The enemy will attack you once it spots you.

How To Kill: You will have to struggle a bit to go to near the enemy and attack it. It has a pretty good range and it can also have a decent health. You have to reach near and attack it the only annoying thing is the spikes.

  • Location – Old Sewers.
  • Cell Drops – 2-3(0%-100%).
  • Blueprint Drops – Dagger of the Sadistic Cult (1.7%) & Sadism (Mutation) (100%).

Shocker:

Attacks: This one emits a large field of circular electricity that will pull you near. The attack will be frequent and but you can simply rush in and attack the Shocker.

How To Kill: The enemy is immobile, it will just emit the circular field, you have to rush in and kill it. You will need a shield here to block its electrical attack.

  • Location – Ossuary & Forgotten Sepulcher.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (50%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Flamethrower Turret (0.4%)

Masker:

Attacks: You will spot this enemy by looking for a thick fog. It is difficult to spot the enemy in the fog, which makes it invisible and you might bump into it. It only attacks is casting fog.

How To Kill: The enemy does not moves or attack, but it will constantly keep creating a large cloud of fogs around you. The challenge is to spot the enemy first and then use fire ranged attacks on the direction to kill it.

  • Location – Prison Depths, Graveyard & Slumbering Sanctuary Stilt Village.
  • Cell Drops – 1-2 (0%-100%).
  • Blueprint Drops – Fire Blast (1.7%).

Undead Archer:

Attacks: This enemy will fire an arrow in your range if you go too close it will hop backward to get away from your melee range. As a part of its Elite ability, it can shoot another arrow below the first.

How To Kill: First stay away from the attack range, duck, and roll towards it. This will help you to dodge arrow as well as the enemy will be in your melee range. The enemy has a low health bar, you can also kill it with a bow.

  • Location – Prisoner’s Cells, Toxic Sewers & Ramparts.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (50%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Infantry Bow (1.7%), Ice Bow (0.4%) & Bow and Endless Quiver (0.03%).

Zombie:

Dead Cells Enemies List

Attacks: These are the most common enemies you will find in Dead Cell, also it can cause your high damage. The zombie can lunge towards you if you are outside of its melee range. And once you are in the range it will slash you. It can also follow you by teleporting from one place to another.

How To Kill: There the only pattern of attack is lunging towards you, so if you are close then they won’ t be able to do this. You have to go near and attack till they die. You can also stun them from the back by jump attack.

Location – Prisoners’ Cells, Promenade of the Condemned, Ramparts, Ossuary and Toxic Sewers.

  • Cell Drops – 1 (33%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Blood Sword (100%), Double Crossb-o-matic (0.4%) & Front Line Shield (1.7%).

Grenadier:

Attacks: Grenadier looks similar to zombies but are in red color and has different behavior. They will throw bombs on you that can go through walls and explode after a moment. Sometimes the grenades can also explode immediately.

How To Kill: Avoid the bombs at all cost, they can also hop back if you attack them. Try to clear up the enemies around first and then go for the Grenadier.

  • Location – Prisoners’ Quarters, Promenade of the Condemned, Slumbering Sanctuary and Throne Room (Summon).
  • Cell Drops – 1 (66%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Fire Grenade (1.7%) & Magnetic Grenade (0.4%)

Shieldbearer:

Attacks: As the name says this one carries a shield, and it can protect itself from attacks. It can attack you with a shield charge when you are near.

How To Kill: The shield blocks all your attacks and also protect the enemies on the backside. You have to attack them from behind. Wait for them to attack and then roll and go to the backside. You can also kill them by throwing a bomb behind them. Turret from behind will also work.

  • Location – Prisoners’ Quarters, Ramparts, Ancient Sewers, Ossuary & Forgotten Sepulchre.
  • Cell Drops – 1-2 (50%-50%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Rampart (1.7%) & Bloodthirsty Shield (0.03%)

Runner:

Attacks: A Runner is hard to avoid, it will perform a claw attack towards you and it can also follow you by teleporting ability. Its attack is fast, and its ability to go through walls, platforms and grounds makes it a tough enemy.

How To Kill: You can roll through to dodge the attack, because before attacking the Runner will pause for a moment. This is the time you have to attack, it is the only time when the Runner is vulnerable.

  • Location – Promenade of the Condemned & Stilt Village (4+ BC active)
  • Cell Drops – 1-2 (34%-66%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Spartan Sandals (100%), Cleaver (1.7%) & Phaser (0.4%)

Inquisitor:

Attacks: The wizard looking enemy can throw projectiles towards you which can pass through walls. This one among the tougher enemies you will face in Dead Cells. Avoiding its attack and fighting with other ones around is difficult. It will attack you with missiles.

How To Kill: The enemy stays in one place and it can see you through walls. It will shoot a slow missile towards you, you have to dodge it and attack the enemy. It does not move so it is easier to kill. The problem with other enemies around that can cause an issue. Clear them first and then go near the enemy and attack.

  • Location – Ramparts, Graveyard, Slumbering Sanctuary (after the switch), Forgotten Sepulchre, High Peak Castle Prisoners’ Quarters & Throne Room.
  • Cell Drops – 1-2(50%-50%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Lightning Bolt (1.7%) Vampirism (0.4%) & Support (Mutation) (100%).

Cleaver:

Attacks: This one is a big enemy with an ax in his hand. It also has a good health and it is a hard enemy to beat. This enemy can attack you by throwing his axe and it can cover a good distance. The spinning blade attack also takes a high time to charge, but once the blade is thrown it won’t stop until it gets returned back to him.

How To Kill: At all cost tries to avoid the attack from axe it can cost a high amount of damage. The throw can also be a short-range melee attack, you have to dodge it and then attack the enemy. You use attacks to stun or freeze the enemy.

  • Location – Forgotten Sepulcher Throne Room, it will be summoned by The Hand of the King.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (66%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Death Orb (0.4%) and Spiked Shield (1.7%).

Pirate Captain:

Attacks: This enemy will attack you with CCannonballand use a triple smash attack style. As you come in the enemies range it will first throw a cannonball at you. The ball will roll and then explode. If you attack they will explode so just avoid them. If you are near to the enemy then it will quickly smash you three times with its cannon. This will also eat a good amount of your health.

How To Kill: The first thing you will need to is to maintain your distance. You can jump over the cannonballs to avoid its attack. Try to fight with the enemy from a distance.

  • Location – Fog Fjord & Stilt Village.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (66%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Wrenching Whip (0.4%).

Scorpion:

Attacks: The enemy will attack you with melee sting and poison shot. It is a huge aggressive insect you will spot in the game. If you try to go near it will try to sting attack you with its tail. If you are far then it will shoot a projectile with poison.

How To Kill: The only way to kill it fast is by not allowing it to attack. Just wait for your chance to get a good distance and then use melee attack but do it fast. The projectile shoot by the insect is a low range, so you can dodge. If you can roll and go behind it then you have more chances to inflict good damage.

  • Location – Toxic Sewers & Ancient Sewers Throne Room.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (66%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Rapier (0.4%)

Disgusting Worm:

Attacks: The enemy will use melee bit and it will drop exploding eggs to attack you. Once you are in the enemies range it will move fast towards you and try to bite you. You will have to move faster here.

How To Kill: At all cost try not to get in the range of exploding eggs. You can try dodging it but it is too risky, so keep your distance and stay away from the eggs. Just keep moving around and the worm will not be able to bite you. The worm will drop a lot of bomb after it dies, so after killing it run away. Don’t stay at the place.

  • Location – Toxic Sewers, Ancient Sewers & Stilt Village Throne Room.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (100%)
  • Blueprint Drops – Swarm (0.4%) Valmont’s Whip (0.4%) & Absorption (Mutation) (100%).

Slasher:

Dead Cells Enemies List

Attacks: This one is a big enemy and you will face it for the first time in Old Sewers guarding the Teleportation Rune. It can teleport towards you and has a good range of attack. It is very dangerous if you are near to the enemy. It will use triple slash attack on you. As it spots you it will attack you instantly.

How To Kill: Use ranged attacks on the enemy, it is easy to kill unless you don’t really land into its range. Also, try to isolate the enemy from other ones around you have to ensure that you don’t get trapped into the triple slash attack. If you try to dodge away from the attack then you well get attacked by a shockwave.

  • Location – Old Sewers, Ossuary, Prison Depths, Graveyard, High Peak Castle (Elite in the blue area) & Throne Room.
  • Cell Drops – 1-2(0%-100%).
  • Blueprint Drops – Cluster Grenade (1.7%) & Heavy Turret (0.4%).

Thorny:

Dead Cells Enemies List

Attacks: If you attack this enemies pointy posture with a melee attack you will take damage along with the enemy. The enemy can curl up and roll towards you. If you attack you will also get hurt.

How To Kill: Attack it when the enemy is standing and facing you, in that way you can hit it multiple times without taking any damage. You can block the roll with a shield.

  • Location – Ossuary, Prison Depths and Castle.
  • Blueprint Drops – Spiked Boots (0.4%) and Barnacle (1.7%).

Hammer:

Dead Cells Enemies List

Attacks: This enemy looks like a giant mechanical spider. The enemy can perform two types of attacks a Bomb spread and it can release a shockwave with a stomp. Once you are spotted it will try coming near you to use stomp for a releasing a shockwave attack.

How To Kill: You have to attack and run, and then repeat the same. Don’t attempt to end the enemy in one shot. If there are other enemies around then try to get rid of them fast and along with that maintain a decent distance. You have to maintain a good distance and attack it, the enemy has a big health bar. Also watch-out for bomb attacks.

  • Location – Prison Depths.
  • Cell Drops – 3-4(34%-66%).
  • Blueprint Drops – War Spear (1.7%) Oil Grenade (0.4%).

Catcher:

Dead Cells Enemies List

Attacks: You will have a really tough time in dealing with this one due to its range of strong attacks and a long health bar. This enemy has a grappling hook, it can stomp and perform a melee stash. It will walk towards you and try to catch you with the hook. If you are caught then it will cause you a good damage. Along with this, it will use a stomp to cause more damage.

How To Kill: Using Skills here is the safest way, the boss is tough so you will need time. Next, you can use ranged attacks on this enemy and try to be fast. The grappling hook is pretty long and it can hit you hard, it is not easy to stay out of its range. You can duck if you spot the hook coming towards you.

  • Location – Graveyard, Slumbering Sanctuary & High Peak Castle.
  • Cell Drops – 1 (66%).
  • Blueprint Drops – Grappling Hook (0.4%) & Knockback Shield (0.4%).

There are few more enemies other than what is mentioned above in the list. Most of them are small and easy to tackle.
