Destiny 2 - How to Redeem Your PC Beta Code
As we learned earlier this year, Destiny 2 will be distributed exclusively via the Blizzard App, formerly Battle.Net, on PC. The PC beta is slated to begin on August 28th at 10:00AM PDT, for those that have pre-ordered, and at 10:00AM PDT on August 29th for everyone else. If you have a pre-order code for the Destiny 2 PC beta, we’ll show you how to trade it in with Bungie for a beta code to be used in the Blizzard App. That’s right, none of this is straight forward, so pay attention.
If you Have a Retailer’s Beta Code
If you have a beta code from the retailer that you pre-ordered Destiny 2 from, you will have to redeem it with Bungie first. Ensure you’re logged into the Bungie.net site and go to their Code Redemption page. Enter the code provided by your retailer and proceed to the Redeemed Codes page. This is where you will claim your Destiny 2 PC beta code that you need to redeem in the Blizzard App. But before you do that, you’ll have to get yourself a Blizzard Account and install the Blizzard App.
Redeem your Code in the Blizzard App
After creating a Blizzard account and installing the Blizzard App, you’ll have to make sure you link that account to your Bungie account. We’ve got a step-by-step guide on how to do that right here.
Once logged into the Blizzard App, be sure to select Destiny 2 from the pane on the left and then click the Redeem a Code button.
You’ll then be taken to yet another website to actually enter the code you received from Bungie. After all that, you can now download the Destiny 2 PC beta.
While you’re waiting for the release of the beta, you can contemplate the many different ways that this process could have been implemented better. We hope all the jumping through hoops will be worth it when we first get to experience Destiny on a PC!
