How to Catch Kyogre in a Pokémon GO Raid
If you’ve been looking for a real challenge in Pokémon GO, you are in for a treat as this Legendary Pokémon will be your toughest competitor yet. Kyogre, the Water type Legendary Pokémon is one of the strongest in attack and defense. Don’t worry, though, because we have you covered on what Pokémon to use.
While Kyogre is a pure Water type, and knows Hydro Pump, it also has the ability to know Blizzard, and Thunder, so your combination of Pokémon will differ depending on what charged move Kyogre has. A good combination of Grass and Electric type Pokémon will be great against Kyogre.
The Gen 2 Electric Legendary Beast Pokémon will be your supreme counter against any move set Kyogre has. A combination of Thunder Shock and Wild Charge will shock Kyogre into submission.
The final evolution of this Grass type Gen 1 starter will be great to have in your lineup if Kyogre has Hydro Pump or Thunder as its charged move. A combination of Vine Whip/Razor Leaf paired with Solar Beam will be the moves of choice.
The Dragon and Flying type will be able to take a lot of damage and dish a lot of damage out in return. You’ll only want Dragonite in your lineup if Kyogre has Hydro Pump as its charged move. A move set of Dragon Breath/Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw/Dragon Pulse/Hurricane/Outrage is what you want to have.
If you were able to get a good one of this Gen 3 Ground type Legendary, you’ll want to use Groudon if Kyogre has Blizzard or Thunder as its charged move. The move set you want Groudon to have is Mud Shot and Solar Beam.
The Gen 2 Fire and Flying type will be excellent against Kyogre if it is using Blizzard. You’ll be able to absorb a lot of damage while dishing some out as well. Since Ho-Oh has the ability to know a Grass type move, you will want to make sure yours knows it. A move set of Extrasensory and Solar Beam will do the trick.
Now that you know which Pokémon to use against this Gen 3 Water type Legendary and after you catch Kyogre, you’ll have a powerful addition to use against other Pokémon in Gyms and Raids.
