If you’ve encountered the oracles at the Vex gate, you’ll need to destroy them in the correct order to solve the Oracle puzzle. This guide will provide you with the correct Oracle order, as well as a short video clip for your reference on how to destroy them. It’s quite easy if you know the correct order to solve the puzzle.
The Whisper Oracle Puzzle
Twitch streamer Teawrex was one of the first to discover the hidden chest near the Vex gate in the heroic version of the Whisper quest. Using his community’s help, it was discovered that the order to shoot the Oracles in matches the order of Oracle waves Guardians had to deal with in the original Destiny‘s Vault of Glass raid.
For the purposes of this guide, and any communications with your fellow Guardians, we’re going to number the Oracles from 1 to 7, with number 1 being the left-most Oracle and number 7 being the right-most Oracle. You will want to have your back to the Vex gate and be looking in the direction of the entrance to the large area that you’re currently in.
The Oracles will flash in and out of view, so wait until all seven of them are steady and visible before beginning to shoot them. You’ll want to team-shoot them to destroy them promptly. Once an Oracle is destroyed, shoot the next one in the correct order. After each round, wait for the Oracles to despawn, flash into existence, and wait until they’re steady again. There are three rounds in total. After the third round, the chest you’re after will appear in front of the Vex gate.
The Whisper Oracle Order
Here are the sequences in which the Oracles must be shot:
- First round: 1 – 3 – 5
- Second round: 4 – 6 – 7 – 3 – 1
- Third round: 7 – 3 – 1 – 6 – 4 – 2 – 5
If you make no mistakes, you’ll be rewarded with the chest. If you do make a mistake, wait for the Oracles to respawn and start the entire process over again. There’s no need to redo the whole quest.
