The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is filled with adventures for Arthur Morgan to take on but sometimes you may want to know exactly what time of day it is so you can avoid being stuck in the middle of the woods at night. This guide will show you how to tell what time it is in Red Dead Redemption 2.
The Easy Way to Tell Time
The easiest way to tell what time it is is merely to bring up the pause menu. The top left corner will always display the current in-game time, though I find it a little bit hard to read at times. It is, however, the most straightforward way and doesn’t require you to do anything else in Red Dead Redemption 2.
The Most Accurate Way to Tell Time
Pressing down on the d-pad will show your location, current objective, and exact time at the top of the screen.
The Immersive Way to Tell Time
If you prefer to fully immerse yourself in Red Dead Redemption 2, you won’t be a fan of the above mentioned easy way to tell what the time is. Instead, you can head to a local shop and purchase a pocket watch. According to the catalog, you’ll be able to use it to tell the time. This makes sense, of course, but it’s not immediately obvious how to actually do this once you’ve purchased a pocket watch.
Equip the Pocket Watch
The step that most people won’t be aware of is that you have to equip the pocket watch before you can use it to tell time. Bring up your satchel and locate the pocket watch you purchased. When highlighted, you can choose to equip it.
How to Look at the Pocket Watch
Once the pocket watch is equipped, you can take a closer look at it via the Item Wheel. Bring it up and scroll past the binoculars and camera on the right side until you find the pocket watch. When you select it, Arthur will bring up the pocket watch and give you a nice clear view of the current time.
