Everything We Know About The Arbalest in Destiny 2

The Arbalest

There's a new array of exotics available for Guardians to grind after in Destiny 2's Season of the Drifter update. Exotics weapons are some of the most potent weaponry a player can have on their character, dealing massive amounts of damage and having access to unique perks. One of these weapons is called the Arbalest, and we're going to share everything we know about it, right here.

The Arbalest

What Is It?

The Arbalest is a linear fusion rifle that does Kinetic damage, which makes it the first of its kind. The weapon comes with a pair of unique perks, Compounding Force and Disruption Break. Compounding Force makes it, so the gun uses slug ammunition, allowing the wield to deal massive amounts of damage to shielded combatants. With Disruption Break attached, when the player does break through an enemy's shield, the foe now receives more damage from Kinetic weapons.

These pair of abilities make it a great starting weapon to whittle down an opponent's shield, deal as much as possible before the buff goes away, and then switch to another weapon to finish off a foe.

Where To Find It?

Right now, no one knows the answer to that question.

Of all the exotics currently out, there's no way to receive this weapon - but it is coming. There are three dominating theories about how to get the gun down. The first is many believe players are going to receive it as a reward for completing the Allegiance questline, and the choice a player makes about who to side with will matter. The second is that it's going to be one of the rewards players get by completing a specific tier level of The Reckoning, the new game mode that released alongside Season of the Drifter. The final theory is that it's an extremely rare exotic engram drop, and no one has found it yet. But that one's an unlikely choice.

Hopefully, we'll learn more about it in the future.
