The teleporter allows players to progress through Risk of Rain 2. However, it doesn’t always spawn properly
The teleporter in Risk of Rain 2 is essential, as it allows players to spawn the level’s boss and then progress to the next level. However, it does not always generate correctly and can sometimes leave players stranded in an area. There are a handful of things you can do to try to work around it, but for now, there are limited solutions outside of the developers finetuning how the teleporter spawns in.

How Teleporters Work
When you spawn into a Risk of Rain 2 level, your goal is to find the teleporter. Once you have located the teleporter, it shoots out a massive red ring you need to stay inside of to charge it. At the same time, a powerful boss spawns near the teleporter you need to fight while you’re charging it. You can leave the charging area to fight the boss, though, from a safer distance.
The teleporter randomly spawns somewhere on the level. It can take a bit of time to locate the device as it’s not always obviously displayed, for a good reason.
The Teleporter Bug
Because the device randomly generates, some players have reported seeing the teleporter spawning sticking out of the environment. When players say the teleporter did not spawn for them and they’re experiencing a bug, it’s likely not the bug they’re thinking of it. The teleporter probably did generate for them. The problem is, it’s stuck somewhere in the environment, and they can’t reach it.
How To Narrow Down If You Have The Bug, Or Not
There are a few ways you can deal with trouble locating the Risk of Rain 2 teleporter. One of the things you need to look out for are the red crystals hanging around the air. These red crystals are signifying you’re getting closer to the teleporter, and if you see them, you’re on the right track.
As you get closer to the area these crystals are floating, and you still have not found the teleporter, you may want to traverse the environment. You should check above you, below you, and in every little corner, you can.
If you still cannot locate the teleporter, and you’ve spent the past twenty minutes looking for it, chances are it’s stuck in the environment. Unfortunately, the best thing for you to do is to end your run and start from the beginning.
It’s frustrating to come to this conclusion, but there’s no other way around it, at this point. Risk of Rain 2 is still in early access, and the developers, Hopoo Games, are hard at work on their 12-month timeline to fully release the game. You can bet during that time if more players are experiencing this issue, they’re going to modify how the teleporter spawns to ensure this does not become a consistent issue.
