How To Access The Crown Of Sorrow Raid In Destiny 2

If you want to take part in Calus’s latest challenge, the Crown of Sorrow, you are going to need to take care of a bit of business first.

Crown of Sorrow is the new Raid that was introduced to Destiny 2 at the start of the Season of Opulence. For the first time, the Raid was available to play on day one. You do, however, need to wrap up some in-game housekeeping before Calus will open the doors and let you enter this new section of the Leviathan.

How To Access The Crown Of Sorrow

To get access to the Crown of Sorrow, you need to finish the Imperial Summons quest. This quest includes The Invitation questline, and will eventually give you access to the new content in the Menagerie. The Menagerie is a new six-player activity in the game that also has matchmaking, so if you are a solo player, you can still dive right in and take on the challenge with your fellow Guardians.

When you first load up the game after installing the new update, you will need to speak to Benedict 99-40 in the Annex area in the Tower. He has moved home, and can now be found near the Drifter. We have a full quest guide which will walk you through everything you need to do, and everywhere you need to go.

Once that is done, you will be able to open up the Director, go to the Leviathan in Destinations, and will be able to take part in the new Crown of Sorrow Raid. It has a recommended Power level of 740, so if you are not there yet, prepare to have quite a fight on your hands.

While you may not be able to finish the Raid your first time in, if you go in with a good team, you should be able to substantially increase your Power level from the many drops you can get during it. Remember, these Raids are designed to be difficult tests, don’t get too disheartened if things don’t go your way. Best of luck, Guardian!
