Ever since the announcement last year that Respawn Entertainment would be tackling a Star Wars game, players have been wondering two things.

One: How badass will I look when playing a Jedi with cool force powers and my pink lightsaber? And two: With how expansive the Star Wars universe is, how big will this adventure be?

One of those questions was answered yesterday during the EA Play conference, where the leads at Respawn showcased a roughly 12-minute gameplay video, showing the game in Alpha state. To see exactly what Jedi wizardry you will be able to pull off in the game, check out our closer look at the combat from the gameplay demo.

The other question is a little more tricky. While we don’t know for sure about the length of the campaign, there are hints to how many adventures you are going to have in the new game. The gameplay demonstrated was set on Kashyyyk, the homeworld of the Wookies. GameInformer editor Andrew Reiner said on his Q&A on Twitter about the game that it seems to be a game that will be ‘lengthy’ based on what he saw and the extra details that he was given, but the developers wouldn’t go into specifics.

There was also a post on gaming forum TheResetEra with details of what was seen, and it included this interesting quote:

“Kashyyyk was an impressive first look that featured plenty of puzzles and reveals I don’t want to spoil for you. This gameplay slice takes place roughly a few hours into the game, and lasts for around 30 minutes, which Asmussen says gives us a look of just 15 to 20 percent of this planet, implying Jedi: Fallen Order may be somewhat lengthy.”

If we take the conservative figure, that would work out to be about two and a half to three hours worth of missions on Kashyyyk alone. Also, with the number of possible places that are available to visit, as well as the RPG elements of the gaming including the skill tree that will take time to earn all of the abilities, the length of the campaign could exceed 30 hours. This would put the game in the same ballpark as the two Knights of the Old Republic games, which were both around the 40-hour mark to complete with a smattering of side-missions, and they were fully fledged RPGs.

While there is no official word on how long the game will take to beat, the rich lore of the universe lends itself to a lengthy story (as has been shown in many previous Star Wars title). With the game also being canon to the Star Wars universe, the developers may be limited by Disney in regards to how much of lore that they will be able to cover. As the time for release gets closer, we expect more information on how big the game will be, but until then, with the information that we have, we’re looking forward to a healthy dose of Jedi goodness.
