In Fire Emblem: Three Houses you are responsible for training and teaching the students in your Houses, and leading them in battles. You also have plenty of things to learn about yourself and can take advantage of Faculty Training to increase your skills and stats.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Faculty Training Guide

Faculty Training can be done on your free days while exploring the Monastery. It will cost you an action point, so pick very carefully when you want to do it, as by its very nature you will be giving up the chance to do something else with that free time. To take part in some Faculty Training, you will need to find the professor/staff member you wish to learn from. They can all teach you different things, so take a good look at the list below to see what each one offers by way of training:

  • Alois – Axe, Brawl, Heavy Armor
  • Catherine – Sword, Brawl
  • Gilbert – Lance, Axe, Heavy Armor, Riding
  • Hanneman – Bow, Reason, Riding
  • Jeralt – Lance, Authority, Riding
  • Manuela – Sword, Faith, Flying
  • Rhea – Sword, Brawl, Reason, Faith
  • Seteth – Sword, Lance, Axe, Authority, Flying
  • Shamir – Lance, Bow

Things will change after the timeskip. While other characters can still train you, precisely what they teach you in will depend on your skills and their skills. You will be able to check with each character what they can train you in.

The last thing to keep in mind is that getting a character to train you can improve your relationship with that character. This is important if you are trying to romance any characters. You’ll need to use everything you can to get your relationship to an S-Rank, to enter a relationship with them. Not all characters will be possible relationship options, so don’t be too sad if it turns out to be a trip to the friend-zone.
