Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2020 – How to open solstice packages

What's inside?

The Solstice of Heroes 2020 event for Destiny 2 is happening right now. Speak to Eva in the Tower’s courtyard to get started. You can work on earning your upgraded armor pieces for your WarlockHunter, and Titan. You will also receive Solstice of Hero packages that you need to unlock by making your way over to the European Aerial Zone, the EAZ.

To open these packages, you need to collect 15 Key Fragments to create a full key. You can earn these key fragments by killing the mini-bosses that appear at the start of the EAZ mission. A boss shows up after them, and then you unlock the chests during the Hunt for Treasure portion of the EAZ. We have all of the chest locations documented for your convenience.

Once you have a full key, you can unlock your Solstice of Hero packages from your inventory. The Solstice Package is a white box with a purple background. When you hover over it, you can see how many key fragments you have. If you have less than 15, you won’t be able to open it. The package contains a random weapon drop. Some of Guardian armor upgrades for the Solstice of Heroes 2020 event require you to open a certain number of Solstice Packages. You may want to hold off opening them before checking your armor upgrade requirements.
