Remnant: From The Ashes – How To Melee
Melee combat is a little confusing at first because the melee is bound to the button you usually use to shoot. The thing to understand is that Remnant: From The Ashes has no hip-fire. When you are in normal third-person view, the button will melee, but when you ADS, it will become the fire button.
The game makes a concerted effort to force the choice between melee or shooting and leaves the interesting middle-ground that is hip-firing out completely. It takes just a little while to get used to, but it does make a lot of sense, as you can rapidly switch between shooting and clobbering stuff without the need to change weapons. Fights in this game are often won just with your ability to react to threats, and being able to smash something with an axe rapidly is a good thing.
