The procedural generation mechanics of Remnant: From the Ashes makes it challenging to locate specific items. Players are going to have trouble finding any particular items they need to give to other NPCs or are looking to add to their arsenal. There are a few tricks left by the developers to make finding these items a bit easier. For those having trouble finding the Tarnished Ring in Remnant: From the Ashes, we’re going to make the process of finding it more manageable. We’re also going to detail what to do with it when you locate it.

How to Find The Tarnished Ring in Remnant: From the Ashes

Where Can You Find it?

Like many of the notable items found in Remnant: From the Ashes, players are going to need to find them in dungeons. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be in a set location in a particular dungeon. Instead, it’s going to be in a random position. Almost every player is going to find it in a completely different spot, inside a unique dungeon. While it’s frustrating to handle, it’s comforting to know this – the Tarnished Ring does drop in dungeons. If you’re hunting exclusively for this item, you want to visit and plunder as many dungeons as you can to locate it.

You want to comb through every space of any dungeon go through to make sure you didn’t miss it. When you locate it, you’re not going to have much use for it. Unfortunately, it’s not going to serve you too much good. But when you return to Ward 13, you’re going to find someone who has been missing it.

Give the Tarnished Ring to Reggie

One of the NPCs at Ward 13 is named Reggie. He’s a vendor who you may have spoken to a few times during your journey. Depending on how early or how late you found the ring, you may have already know Reggie was the original owner of the Tarnished Ring. He lost it during one of his travels. With the ring in your inventory, you can give it to him, and you’re going to receive some scrap and a perk for your troubles. The perk is called Scavenger Trait. The Scavenger Trait is going to increase the amount of scrap you receive from gathering. You can also have gained this perk by selling a lot of consumables.

If you don’t get the prompt to give the Tarnished Ring to Reggie when you talk to him, all you need to do is continue talking to him. Exhaust as many of his dialogue trees as you can, and eventually, you’ll get the option to give it to him.
