The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game is set to release on Oct. 25. However, Activision wants to get people excited for the game, and are getting ready to give their fans access to a beta. The beta is going to feature some great multiplayer action to give players an idea of what the new game is going to play like. Here’s how you get access to the game’s beta and how to check on your beta status to make sure you get into it before the game launches.

How to Get Access to Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s Beta

When Does the Beta Start?

Two betas are happening for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The first one happening is a PlayStation 4 exclusive one. It’s broken up into an early access beta, and then an open beta for the console.

  • PlayStation 4 Early Access: Sept. 12 to 13
  • PlayStation 4 Open Beta: Sept 14 to 16

Following those betas, there’s going to be a more general beta across all of the platforms. It’s going to open up for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Those who play on the PC are going to need access to Blizzard’s Battle.net, which means they’re going to need to have a Battle.net profile. Here are the times for the more open beta:

  • Early Access: Sept. 19 to 20
  • Open Beta: Sept 12 to 23

How to Gain Access to Modern Warfare Beta

As of right now, the best way to gain access to the Modern Warfare beta is to pre-order the game from any of the major retailers. You’re not going to want to go to one of the minor ones or a location who’s going to offer you a discount. Those who pre-order the game before the respective listed beta times shown above are going to receive a 13 digit beta access to code to input to their respective console.

You’re going to receive the beta code in the email tied to the account you’re using for your Modern Warfare game if you pre-order a physical version. For example, if you have a PlayStation account, the code is going to go to the email on that account. The same goes for the Xbox One and the one for your Battle.net profile.

For those on the PlayStation 4, you’re going to need to go to the store section and input the code to the “Redeem Codes,” section, and type it in. You should start downloading the option once it gets accepted.

For the Xbox One, you’re going to need to go to the Microsoft store and go to the “Use a Code,” section, typing it in. Shortly after, you should start the download when the code gets accepted.

If you’re using Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher, you’re going to need to go to the “Account Settings,” and then to the “Games & Codes,” area. You’re going to want to hit the “Code Redemption,” part, and then type it in to have the download start.

For those pre-order the digital version of the game, you’re going to gain immediate access and do not need a 13 digit code. You should locate Modern Warfare in your respective storefront, and you should have access to the beta, which you can download.
