When you’re blasting away waves of enemies and picking up their loot, sometimes it’s easy to forget how you can change the way your gun looks. In Borderlands 3 you can modify the weapon’s overall skin with a few simple clicks. However, finding this menu takes a little bit of getting used to, and they don’t properly explain it to you. Here’s how you do it.

How to Change Your Weapon’s Skin in Borderlands 3

You’re going to want to jump into your main inventory. You can do it from wherever you are because you don’t need to use the Quick Change machine. You usually only use that machine if you want to modify your character’s colors, head, or overall skin. Weapon skins can happen whenever you want to change them. When you’re in the menu, scroll over to the weapon you want to modify. If it’s in the general inventory, you want to stick to the right side. If you’re holding it, you want to stick to the left side of the screen and highlight it over there. When you’re highlighting the weapon you want to change skins, press the respective “Inspect,” button. Inspecting a weapon brings up a direct a more in-depth view of the gun and its stats.

When you’re in this menu, you’re going to see a “Change Weapon Skin,” prompt on the lower right side of your screen. It’s going to be different based on what console you’re using, but it should display whichever button you need to click. Doing so brings up the various weapon skins you have available, allowing you to pick from any in the list to use on whatever weapon you’d like.

That’s all you need to know about changing your weapon’s skin. Now, your favorite handgun or rocket launcher looks ten times better than it initially did, so your enemies know you’re going to take them out in style.

Borderlands 3 is available right now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC through the Epic Games Store.
