Eriana’s Vow is an interesting new Exotic Hand Cannon that is coming to Destiny 2 with Shadowkeep. The gameplay that I have seen of it makes it seem like a Hand Cannon that plays almost like a bow. It also combines some exciting perks that potentially make it a nightmare to deal with in the hands of a skilled PvP player.

How To Get Eriana’s Vow

This is the good news, or the bad news, depending on your point of view. The Eriana’s Vow is tied into Destiny 2’s new Seasonal Pass. People who purchase the Premium Pass will get access to the weapon at Rank 1, while people on the free pass will get access to the weapon at Rank 35. This means no strange quests or hoops to jump through; it just forms part of the Season Rank rewards that you will get from playing the game.

It is also worth pointing out that if you have purchased Shadowkeep, then you have the Season Pass, so you are good to go with this new Exotic as soon as you log in.

The Eriana’s Vow comes with the intrinsic perk Looks Can Kill, “this weapon fires special shield-piercing ammunition. It comes with a scope”. It also has the trait Death At First Glance, “Bonus damage when aiming down sights on the opening shot of an attack. This bonus is preserved if the shot does precision damage or strikes an elemental shield”.

From the wording, I am taking this to mean the first shot against any target, and that you do not need to reload to regain the bonus against a new target, but I will need to get in the game and test it.

The weapon also has pretty much maxed out Impact and Range stats, meaning this will be lethal in the hands of people with precise aim, but it is tempered somewhat by the slow fire rate of 90 rounds per minute.
