Here’s how you go about grinding out your Gear Score in Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint is going to have you running around the island of Auroa, fighting off several squads of highly-trained soldiers. Those soldiers drop plenty of loot, and they’re guarding a lot of too. The more pieces of loot they drop, the higher your overall Gear Score is going to rise. This score is the average of the total items your character is wearing. You want a higher gear score to take on stronger enemies. Here’s how you can go about grinding it in the game.

Grinding Gear Score in Ghost Recon Breakpoint

You want the highest gear score possible in the game. To effectively grind it out while you’re taking on main, side, and faction missions, you need to make sure you’re wearing the best gear number possible. Open up your loadout to make sure every item you have equipped is the highest number available to you. Doing so is going to raise your overall score in the upper left corner of your screen.

You need to do this for your weapons, especially. Some players might hesitate to do this because they want to keep specific weapons for their character. For example, the Panther class has almost no business using an LMG for one of their primary weapons. For example, they may loot an LMG that’s eight levels higher than one of their main weapons, but they rely on stealth. The player would then choose to keep their current loadout.

However, this is the opposite of what players want to do if they’re going to get better and better gear consistently. By equipping the higher-level LMG, players are going to raise their overall Gear Score. The score is then going to increase the quality of the loot drops moving forward, rather than keep it the same when they looted the better LMG.

The more players raise their overall Gear Score, despite not needing the weapon, the better quality of equipment they’re going to receive while playing the game.

Do you want to get large amounts of gear at once? You’re going to want to focus on raiding large bases, where they have plenty of gearboxes and enemies for you to take out. You can try grinding out supply tracks, but you’re going to get more equipment overall from these places. You’ll want to make sure you use your drone to scout out the area because things can go bad quick.

Overall, make sure you’re wearing the best Gear Score possible, even if you’re wearing something of higher quality. You want to increase the numbers of your loot gear as much as possible.
