While playing through Assassin’s Creed: Origins, players will reach a point in the story where Bayek is reunited with his wife. One of the first things (ok, the second thing…) she does to him, is shaving his beard and trimming his hair. Personally, I hardly recognized Bayek without his beard and long hair. For those that prefer him in that fashion, here’s some good news. You can get the beard back!
Change Bayek’s Appearance
Ashraf Ismail, the game director of Assassin’s Creed: Origins, let it slip on Twitter that there is a way to customize Bayek’s appearance.
Well, there you go! After meeting Aya, in the Gear page, LT+Y and RT+Y will toggle hair and beard! ????? https://t.co/StNI5wnWGp

As it turns out, if you visit the Gear page in the Character menu, you can use the shoulder buttons of your controller, and the action button, to cycle through short/long hair and beard/no beard. You can even choose whatever combination of the two that you prefer.
While I have not found a way to accomplish this by using the mouse and keyboard, it can be done by using a game controller plugged into your PC.
The relevant buttons are as follows.
PS4 Controller: L2 + Triangle for Hair, R2 + Triangle for Beard
Xbox Controller: LT + Y for Hair, RT + Y for Beard
Below you can see the possible variations of Bayek’s appearance.
Unfortunately, it seems like this feature is just a small gimmick added in as an easter egg, rather than a full-fledged design element. The appearance frequently resets upon death or even upon loading the game. So if you want to keep that beard, you’ll have to toggle it on again each time. Still worth it, in my opinion.
