The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s second DLC pack is finally upon us.
Unlike the first DLC pack, Nintendo has added new shrines and story content into the game, as well as additional costumes, weapons, and secrets for those who know where to look.
To access this DLC, players will need to have defeated all four of the Divine Beast dungeons which are a part of the main questline. They can then go and find everything that the Champion’s Ballad has to offer.
Four Zelda-themed costumes, inspired by previous games, have been added to the Champion Ballad DLC.
Ravio’s Hood from Link Between Worlds, Zant’s Helmet from Twilight Princess, Phantom Ganon’s armor from Ocarina of Time, and an Island Lobster Shirt from The Wind Waker are all hidden throughout the world.
In order to begin your hunt, head towards Deya Village, which can be found in the southeast of the map, and look out for a large destroyed house. Inside, you will find a journal hidden under some planks. Read every entry of this journal in order to spawn the DLC items into the world.
Once you have read every entry, four main quests will appear in your Adventure Log. Time to start hunting.
Ravio’s Hood is located at the Shrine of Courage. You can find a chest under the right claw of the large dragon statue protecting the entrance to the cave of the shrine. The item you’re looking for is inside that chest.
Island Lobster Shirt
Wind Waker’s Zelda-themed collectable can be located to the south of Hyrule, just under the Lake Tower. A treasure chest is hidden underwater at the very end of Cora Lake. Use your magnetic ability to fish the chest out of the lake and collect the shirt.
The Island Lobster Shirt gives Link heat resistance, allowing him to survive in areas that are bitterly cold.
North of Tobio’s Hollow, located to the south of Hyrule, is a small swamp area that lies just east of the Spring of Courage. Beneath two trees, peeking out of the sand, is the chest with Zant’s Helmet inside.
Zant’s Helmet grants Link the ability to be unfreezable, meaning that no Ice-type enemies can freeze him in place while he wears the helmet.
Phantom Ganon Set
The Phantom Ganon armor is split into three separate parts and is hidden around the Faron area, which lies to the southeast of Hyrule.
We have placed three colored markers on the map around Faran to help players find the items quicker and easier. By going to these points, you can find all three pieces of the Phantom Ganon Set.
Phantom Ganon Armor
The armor is located just north of Sarjon woods, under the bridge near Floria River.
Phantom Ganon Skull
The Skull is located under the waterfall south of Corta Lake, just near Bronas Forest.
Phantom Ganon Greaves
The last piece of the Phantom Ganon set can be found to the east of Floria Bridge, hidden behind a large tree near the entrance of Ebara Forest.
Players who have Link wear the entire Phantom Ganon set of armor will have increased stealth, increased damage with bone weapons, and the ability to disguise yourself against monsters.
Ancient Horse Gear
The Ancient Horse Gear is a unique set of two pieces of armor exclusive for horses: The Ancient Bridle and The Ancient Saddle.
In order to start the quest, players need to head to the Highland Stable, located in the Southern Lake Region between both the Lake and Faron Tower. A journal will be inside the stable on the table. Read it.
The journal entry will tell you about two different places you need to visit to find both items.
Ancient Bridle location
The Ancient Bridle can be found on top on Satori Mountain, near the pond beside the cherry blossoms. Players will need to scale the mountain to the very top and use their magnet ability to unearth the chest near the cherry blossom tree.
Ancient Saddle location
The Ancient Saddle is located just south of the Highland Stable, near the bottom of the Hyrule map. Cross the bridge over the Lake of the Horse God and you will find the chest hidden behind the Horse God Fairy Fountain.
Once you have the Saddle and place both parts onto a horse, you can summon that horse from anywhere across the map using the down D-pad button.
Royal Guard Outfit
The Royal Guard Outfit is the last costume available for players to find in the Champion’s Ballad DLC, and it’s one of the hardest to acquire.
Players spawn the items into the world after reading the journal in Riverside Stable—the same place as the Horse Armor quest is unlocked. You’ll need to go to Hyrule Castle—the final area of the game—in order to get the full set of three items.
Royal Guard Boots
Enter Hyrule Castle through the main gate and head up the road curving left. Go into the first door you see and it’ll take you to the Guards’ Chamber. Two Lizalfos will be guarding the chest with the boots inside.
Royal Guard Uniform
The Royal Guard Uniform is located in the long hall near the Dining Hall behind a bombable wall. There will also be a rare sword for players to pick up for their quest.
Royal Guard Cap
The last part of the Royal Guard Outfit, the Royal Guard Cap, can be found above the final boss room at the peak of Hyrule Castle on the second floor of the Sanctum. You will need to climb up the spire and drop down into a deadly pit of malice to find the chest.
