How To Skip Annoying Intro Videos/Ads In Deus Ex Mankind Divided

As soon as PC players load up Deus Ex Mankind Divided on PC they are greeted with some annoying videos/ads from AMD, Nixxis and others. Thankfully, it is possible to skip these annoying ads via an interesting hack (as discovered by Reddit user knbgun).

The intro videos are in these files:

Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\runtime\A25DE802B5F763BC2E933535CD9DC727.pc_binkvid 6.051.096

Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\runtime\5ED546466C171E858CC5A68F29A23284.pc_binkvid 5.036.580

Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\runtime\4A0E2951DDC2FCAAB24181DC99805D79.pc_binkvid 2.813.264

Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\runtime\61F7622A655F804A87F7991025FADC0C.pc_binkvid 2.693.232

Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\runtime\CA6F14742B3E9F4540E4AEA8826D4BA8.pc_binkvid 2.075.876

Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\runtime\D6303B081E3752D30912AD69F480282D.pc_binkvid 1.500.432

knbgun says: I included the exact size in case yours have different names. They seem to contain bink video files, but I don’t know how exactly they wrapped them, because it’s not just a changed extension or an additional header in the file. Deleting them or replacing them with empty files causes the game to crash. So until someone comes up with a better solution, I have a crude hack: I took the smallest .pc_binkvid file I could find in the folder and replaced all of the above with it. The file is:

Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\runtime\32D9BE50C4186564445921C6B31C65BD.pc_binkvid 151.624

In other words: take the small replacement file, make 6 copies of it, one for each video to be replaced, rename each of the copies to one of the 6 filenames above and then overwrite the original files with them. You will just see an orange screen for a couple of seconds when you start the game instead of the intro videos.

If you don’t want to hassle around these files and replacing them then here is a perfect solution for you: “Quick batch file to do all the dirty work for you”

@echo off

call :skip A25DE802B5F763BC2E933535CD9DC727

exit /b

ren %1.pc_binkvid %1.pc_binkvid.backup

copy 32D9BE50C4186564445921C6B31C65BD.pc_binkvid %1.pc_binkvid

exit /b

Just save it as a .bat file, throw it in the dxmd/runtime folder, and run it.

Fix For Breach – Final Reward Issue:

The development team has identified an issue where the final reward for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach is awarded to the player indefinitely, once he continues clearing maps after having completed the game. As a temporary fix, this reward has been replaced. Once the issue is fully fixed, the correct reward will be put back in place. Users who have completed Breach in the meantime will retroactively receive the reward.

The game’s option menu doesn’t display the settings correctly. Players should ignore what they are seeing in the menu and use what they are noticing in-game. A fix is coming for this issue.

How to increase FOV:

A lot of players have complained about FOV in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Thankfully, Reddit user SeanPesce has discovered a fix for it. Below are the steps for increasing FOV in Mankind Divided even higher than the game would normally allow.

Step 1:

Open DXMD.exe in a hex editor (such as HxDen)

Step 2:

Do a search (Ctrl+F or Search->Find) and search for this string of bytes (NOTE: make sure “Datatype” is set to “Hex-values”):

E0 2E 65 42 35 FA 8E 3C 00 00 00 00 00 00 80 39 00 00 00 3F 00 00 00 40 DB 0F 49 40 40 BF E8 42

Replace the first 4 bytes (E0 2E 65 42) with 00 00 8C 42.

For even higher FOV, you can try 00 00 A0 42, but anything higher than that would probably start looking kind of crazy.

How To Quit Immediately

There is an easy way of quiting Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on PC instead of going all the way to the main menu. All you need to do is press Alt+F4, it will bring up a “Quit Game” option, just select YES and that’s it.

More updates incoming..
