Why Far Cry 4 On PS4 Does Not Run At 1080p/60 FPS: "Would Have To Simplify Arts, Less Events & Other Sacrifices"
Yesterday, Far Cry 4 Creative Director Alex Hutchinson revealed that development team are targeting 1080p/30 FPS for PlayStation 4 version of the game. The frame-rate-per-second figure didn't go down too well with some PlayStation fans and they demand a smooth 60 FPS instead.
Today, via Twitter Alex has clarified why Far Cry 4 PlayStation 4 does not run at 1080p/60 FPS. Alex stated that 60 FPS is possible for PlayStation 4 version of Far Cry 4 but development team would have to make many sacrifices in many key areas such as "art, less number of peoples on screen and more"
"We'd have to simplify the art, have less people or events on screen or make other sacrifices." said Alex.
@dj_backbreaker@fender211pi We'd have to simplify the art, have less people or events on screen or make other sacrifices.

He further clarified that even though Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 is almost of the same size, the sequel is much "Denser" than its predecessor and map size has nothing to do with FPS.
"FC4 is much denser, but either way size of map has nothing to do with frame rate."
