Xbox One Weekly Sales Have Tripled Since $50 Price Cut, Xbox One Outselling PS4 In US For The Past Two Weeks: Microsoft

To be in the competition against Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft recently announced a limited time price cut of Xbox One, Xbox One will be available for $50 less i.e. $349 instead of $399 (offer expires on January 3, 2014). At the time of price cut announcement, Xbox Division Boss Phil Spencer stated that Microsoft "Want This To Be An Unforgettable Holiday Season", and hence this price cut. Now, it seems like this MOVE has paid off really well for Microsoft.

As per the details just revealed by Microsoft via Xbox News, Xbox One weekly sales have tripled since the announcement of "$50" price cut and is outselling PlayStation 4 in US "for past two weeks". Microsoft also announced that they have shipped "more than 10 Million" Xbox One consoles to retailers.

Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi said:

"The response to this wave of blockbuster game releases and new bundles has been amazing, and sales have skyrocketed since the new price took effect on Nov. 2.

Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday. As we head into the busy holiday season Xbox One led generation 8 console sales in the US for the past two weeks.  Shortly, we will have sold in to retailers more than 10 million Xbox One consoles."
