Metal Gear Solid Series Has Now Sold Over 40 Million Units Worldwide says Famitsu
According to details shared by from popular Japanese magazine Famitsu, Metal Gear Solid franchise has now sold whooping over 40 million units/copies worldwide. This is really impressive considering the fact that just three months ago i.e. in September 2014, Konami announced that the total sales of Metal Gear Solid series is 39.1 Million, and six months ago i.e. in June 2014, it was 35.2 million units.
These sales figure is a clear indication that Metal Gear Series benefited a lot after going multiplatform i.e. on PC and Xbox once again. The first game in the series was called "Metal Gear" and it was released in 1987 for the MSX2.
The latest installment is titled as "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" it is scheduled to launch at some point in 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain continues the complex saga of the Snake soldier line, connecting storylines from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, and the rest of the Metal Gear timeline.
