Fallout 4 To Surpass Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's Sales, According To UK Retailer GAME
The popular retailer GAME UK expects Fallout 4 sales to "surpass those of Skyrim", based on the pre-orders issued since the game has been announced last week. Third party content manager Mandip Bhachoo has stated it is always a "defining moment for the world of video games" when Bethesda releases a new game, and with Fallout 4 it will be the same.
Simply Games' Steve Moore has praised the decision of launching it in 2015 instead of letting it slip into 2016, as many other publisher have done in the past few months.
"It's really important that Fallout 4 hits this year and doesn't become yet another marquee title that slips into 2016. It's very encouraging that Bethesda has announced a date so early on for Fallout 4. To bring it out within days of this year's Call of Duty shows massive faith in the title."
Fallout 3 has shipped over 4.7 million by the end of 2008 since day one in October and New Vegas (developed at Obsidian Entertainment, not at Bethesda Game Studios) 4.7 million just in the launch week. Skyrim has sold over 20 million units between its November 11, 2011 launch and the end of January 2014.
So, whether it's surpassing or not the acclaimed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyim, it's pretty safe to say that Bethesda can expect Fallout 4 to be a huge success when it releases on November 10.
