Microsoft: Free Gears of War Games Won't Include DLC/Season Pass Content With Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

Yesterday, Microsoft announced an extra incetive for buyers of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One. The buyers of this Gears of War Ultimate Edition will get all four Gears of War games on Xbox 360 for free of cost, and will support Backward Compatibility feature.

However, Microsoft did not clarified whether or not this incetive will include "DLC and Season Pass" content released so far for Gears of War series? Speaking to our friend at Inquisitr, Microsoft confirmed that if you previously owned DLC/Season Pass content then only those content will support Backward Compatibility feature. There is no DLC gifting with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

"If you previously purchased the DLC, it will be supported in Xbox One Backward Compatibility. However, we are not gifting DLC as part of this package."

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is scheduled to launch on August 25. Painstakingly remastered in 1080p and modernized for Xbox One, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is packed full of new content, including five campaign chapters never released on Xbox, as well as early access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta.
